This engine looks very beat. I would suggest you spend for a proper rebuilt engine. The tolerances required ,parts and tools needed, and the learning curve to properly rebuild a Renesis engine (especially in this shape) is not a task to be easily tackled by any novice with these engines.

One of these reputable rebuilders could better examine your rotors, irons, seals etc. and tell you what can be salvaged for a rebuild, and what parts you would need to replace. You will want this rebuild to be top notch and running with proper compression, and not DOA as many DIY rebuilds wind up.

Here is a great reputable rotary rebuilders list compiled by member BigCajun:

Keep in mind that some (many?) rebuilders won't take an engine that has been disassembled as a core so you'll be out whatever core charge they include.

I know that Mazda will if you purchase a reman from them, provided you put it back together with some care (i.e. try to make it look like you didn't intentionally do damage to it).

Strong recommendation for Kevin @ rotaryressurection

Had my 2005 Rx8 rebuild by Kevin @ rotaryressurection in TN. Highly recommended. Shares detailed pictures during process. Excellent work. If want other part replacement or upgrade he is very reasonable to work with.
