The raidatior light.

So I have read a few posts about this but can't seam to find an answer to this . First of all I have full radiator new cooliant but the light comes on and off now and again . I read it may be the tank sensor is this an easy fix to do myself? Also can you disconnect the sensor and make the light not come on ? And was this a recall issue that the dealier will fix for free? Temp is always fine I believe it's just a bad sensor just when I research it this seams to be a pricey fix.

A) If the coolant light is coming on but the coolant level is correct, then it is a sensor problem

B) Fixing the sensor requires replacing the coolant bottle ($130 from Mazmart). If you don't remove the coolant bottle properly, you will also have to replace the radiator ($150 from Mazmart). Don't assume we are exagerating, nearly everyone thinks they can "just be careful" and nearly everyone breaks the radiator anyway.

C) You can disconnect the sensor to make the light go away, but you better keep an eye on the coolant level

D) The coolant temp gauge on the gauge cluster can't be trusted. You can do engine damage from overheating without the needle moving.

E) There was never a recall for this. There was a TSB, but that is just a set of instructions, you still have to pay for the work yourself.

For half the price of the bottle you can get an ultragauge, uplug the sensor, and have it alarm if them temps get too high. That is what I did.
