PCM burnt up, repair options?

So I am a new member and new owner, bought a 2004 rx-8 with 126,000 miles. Problem is it sat for a few months and then when the old owner decided to drive it again it had issues starting. Was getting fuel and air but had a weak spark on lead coil #1. He took that as the eccentric shaft position sensor being bad. He then attempted 'jumping' the sensor which ended up burning up the PCM board past repair. When I got it home I found that the original problem he had was that, due to it sitting, mice had chewed wires, mainly a wire on the sensor and one on the #1 coil.

So I have solved all of the cars problems and now I just need to figure out what all is necessary to change the PCM, such as what other parts are absolutely necessary. Thank you sorry for the essay here.

Well, first, you're going to need a new PCM.

Second, you're going to need the dealer to "mate" it to the rest of the modules in the car. Just dropping a new PCM in the mix is like having a stranger show up at the family reunion and claim to be Uncle Dean. Nobody is going to believe him the car won't work.

Thank you, and that's what I needed to know. Had to make sure I didn't need to replace the ecu, immobilizer, and rechip keys along with it.
