Old timer...new guy!
 

At 40 years old and owning 14 rx7s (FD now) I spend alot of time at a rotary specific shop and seeing 2-3+ 8s a month come in for motors it left a bad taste in my mouth. Until one day I just up and decided to buy one to daily. I ended up having a 65k, 1 owner, garage kept, meticulously maintained VR sport model fall into my lap for well below market price and have to say I love it! Its probably one of the best handling cars I've ever driven! Car now has a koyo rad, RB screens, new coils, wires, plugs, lightweight flywheel and exedy oem clutch. Running 10w30 and 4oz of Idemitsu premix.

Welcome!! Your S2 looks to be very well kept and appears in excellent shape!! Honestly, I daily my BB 04 RX-8 from May until November and I love the car to death. I drive other cars and own several cars and none dive like my 8's and none leave me yearning for more driving like my 8's do. Over-maintaining these cars goes a long way in ensuring a long engine life and more miles on the road. Well done on the upgrades.

Congrats on your new 8! Needless to say, you didn't see the countless 8s, every month, that were running fine and did not come in for motors. (In fact, what you were probably seeing were mostly 8s that were not properly maintained, as I suspect most 8s are.) Selection bias is a dangerous thing when it comes to drawing conclusions about all of anything, including RX-8s.

I know and have spoken to Nate about this a few times we just never really nailed down shipping and I was kind of resisting the fenders because obviously I dont need them but have consider buying the whole shaabanggg
