New to the Rotary
 

New to the Rotary scene. Been doing some reading all around. This website helped a ton. Although I'm still confused as to the high rev on shut down. I keep seeing mixed answers. Any advice please help. Also I'm in northern WI and I'm having a bit of a situation finding a Rotary mechanic so if anyone knows of one in Wisconsin please let me know. Also just curious about any good tips owning my first Rx8 besides compression tests when buying one.

Revving before shutdown is a waste of good gas.

Read the new owners forum (particularly the new owners stickies). Lots of info pertaining to your questions.

I've owned an RX-7's and now RX-8's since the late 90's and have never done a high rpm shutdown and have never had flooding issues on any engine that was not low on compression.

Welcome to the forum, thanks a lot for joining! You'll find a wealth of information here and plenty of good ideas and help.

Do yourself a favor and read the new owners guide before asking a bunch of questions. More the likely you will find your answer there. Its a great resource for new rotary owners like myself.
