trying to find previous owner of my 8
 

I just picked up my new to me mazda rx8 in Norwalk, CT. It is a 2005 Sunlight silver 6 speed with the appearance package with only 34586 miles on it. I noticed a sticker naming this forum on one of the rear side windows leading me to think the previous owner/only other owner was a member here. I'm hoping somebody knows who because I wouldn't mind knowing more about the car bc the dealer was short on information as far as maintenance, way it was driven, what has been done to the car. It does run and drive. Very well and has no hot start problems as of now.

Welcome, No. Sounds like a good deal. A member here is much more likely to have kept up regular maintenance than a non-member.

At that mileage it could still be on its original coils and plugs - the official change interval for plugs is a bit over that. It could also be on its original transmission and rear end oil, which are supposed to be changed around now.

If nobody IDs the original owner, it would be prudent to change the fluids and the ignition parts. Fluid change is something you'd do with any nice used car whose exact history you don't know. Ignition change is an RX-8 thing, since the coils don't last long and the outcome of failure isn't much fun.

That's what I'm hoping for as far as maintenance goes, would love to know the service done to it before if the prev owner is identified though.

I did find some papers that look like the car was purchased in the NJ area

Anyone have an idea??
