NY New 2010 Rx8 owner with a Car Cover up for free to anybody interested

I picked up my RX-8 this Saturday. it's a 6 speed and super basic, I don't think it has any option, but I still love this car. 46.3K on the car and I have to do the math, but 3 or 4 k on the new engine. I plan on doing the most to keep this car running right. I'm thinking of getting a compression test regardless, but so far No CELs. I did clean the battery terminals and now it seems to stumble at idle. But I wonder if that's because of the aftermarket intake, which I plan on returning to stock.

SO for anyone interested. The car came with a car cover. I won't be using it because I park on the streets and well, it would be a hassle for me. Anyway, free to anybody interested. Free Pick up or pay for shipping. I live in Manhattan, New York City, 10023 is the zip. Please feel free to PM me if you can use the car-cover.

Welcome!

A GS trim RX-8? That's not very common. Most of them out there are either GT or R3.

Remember to read the new owner thread. Very helpful info there.

Oh, and pics when you can!

HI Papo,

No I haven't taken a picture yet. I folded it up nice and was like. Hmm, dint wanna go through all that again.

But if you're interested I would be happy to take a photo of the cover on the car for you. It might be dark out. But it seems to be in very good condition. Gray with white interior. And it comes with a tigh down. Perfect if you're storing the car or what not.

That's for the welcome. Thus is a great place. I was initially apposed the the rx8, and then I found this forum. And then I drove one. And soon after I was obsessed.

Hi Jinx

How about that. It's like a real sports car. No sun roof, spoiler or foglights (which I really like actually). But the basic radio is good enough and the ac is cold even without putting on the insulation on the hoses.

And Yes, the info is great and so are the members!!! Ride or Die's for life.

Yeah, I think most of us here on the forum fell in love with the 8 as soon as we got in the drivers seat. It is a fun car to drive, even considering the maintenance it requires. but this is the right to be to get the most out of the car. every guy on here has a story, a problem and a solution to anything you can think of or come up with. Read a lot and often don't be afraid to ask questions, we all been there. ike JINX said the NEW OWNER THREad is the most important thread you will read on here. and don't worry bout the pic of the cover, if you really giving it away, I'm interested.

Excellent. I'm going to enjoy the car and the community.

And yes Sir, the cover is yours. I hope you put it to good use. I am happy to keep another RX8's enthusiast's car looking as good as the day they bought it.

By the way, they name's Antonius but all my friends call me by my last name, Momac. Hence the Momacattack handle.

Any whose, I'm located at 134 west 74th on the west side. Between Columbus and Amsterdam. Let me know whenever is a good time for you. I will send you a pick of the cover packaged up and I'll weigh it. It's no joke and totally worth it.

free us without a doubt my favorite flavor.

Best,
MOMAC

Hi Jirlanjm, I'm sorry but PapoRX8 beat you to the punch. Apparently up at 1:40 am on a Sunday. That counts for something. But if for somereason he doesn't want it, you will be the first to know.

I'm not sure what happened, it might have been the usual. Bad ignition plus the aftermarket intake and who know what kind of previous treatment. I'm going to run premix. And really do my best to have all the longevity mods and best practices in place.

Thank you for the interest. You would think that somebody with a car cover would do the world for their car.

I think one feature I really like about my GT is the HID headlights. My Accord had halogen ones, and the HID lights for my RX-8 is a massive improvement. Really help me see them stupid deer at night.

Also like the sunroof personally, although a lot of taller people will disagree with me, LOL.

Other features, yeah, whatever. Those Boses are fine, but I am no audiophile, so I don't really pay too much attention to the finer details.

Hi UnknownJinx,

I agree with your valid points his really help. The traction and stability control should help in the snow. But why allowed you be out there in the snow with the RX8. I would definitely want a garage on snowy days. Which I don't have being that I live in the city.

The moonroof is nice to have, but I don't miss it. And yeah, I'm short and it felt like it was on top of me. I love th e headroom in my RX8 now.

And I'm no audiophile either. I swapped out the rear speakers for some "nicer" aftermaker Rockfords and I can't really hear any difference. I think the sound system is very good for a Stock one with some really huge drivers up front.

But let's face it. I bought the car for the looks and the driving feel. It feels and looks great.

It's no RX7, but I think that's a good thing as you can get away with this car as the occasional driver.

Your screen name is so much like mine, I had to jump in and say what's up. I actually also have a 2010 sport. This is nuts!

For a stumble at idle have you checked and cleaned the mass air flow sensor (MAF)?

HAHAHAHA.

ScreenName, had to go with my last name Momac and as you naturally know, ATTACK!

I sorted out the idle issue. It was my fault, I put the stock Airbox in and it did not hook up the vacume line that goes to the bypass thingie which activates the valve on the front of the airbox which I believe opens up at >7500 rpm. It's cool now.

YOUR CAR LOOKS GREAT!!!

I'm going to do the upgraded coils soon. I'm hopeful that will resollve any drivability issues and get me a bit better than 10mpg. Shooting for 13-14.
