More than one persons opinion? That's the most over-rated, over-discussed, and over-flagellated topic on the forum. You look silly ....

You aren't informed enough to know that you already got one, the BS is because of people like yourself rehashing it over and over again

If you don't want to take extra time, this isn't the car for you.
I use Idemitsu .5oz per gallon. |

I use Idemitsu .5oz per gallon. So I think you're set Billy. Thanks to Setsuna. MOmac |

That's a good answer and I had the same question. Found that people like idemitsu which is Japanese and rotary specific. Also, the lucus 2 stroke low ash semi synthetic seems like it would work. The nice thing on the lucus is that it comes in 6.4 and 8oz bottles. Both divide nice into 128 or 64 Oz. Which is 1 gal or 1/2 a gallon. Meaning that you can use the little bottles to parse out the quarts or gallon that you will be buying later on.
So I think you're set Billy. Thanks to Setsuna. MOmac Very little hard evidence on if they are better than any other 2-stroke oil, although I buy it even if it's just marketing. Theoretically, any 2-stroke should be okay. OP, just read the new owner thread or rx8help.com. Answered your question in the other thread. |
any JASO FC or FD rated 2-cycle oil is fine. Buy on cost if it is rated JASO FD. JASO M345 ratings:
JASO FA – original spec established regulating lubricity, detergency, initial torque, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking. JASO FB – improved requirements over FA with regard to lubricity, detergency, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking. JASO FC – lubricity and initial torque requirements same as FB, however far higher requirements over FB with regard to detergency, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking. JASO FD - same as FC, except with far higher detergency requirement. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx8...bf2e2082b9.jpg |
...in a pinch you can purchase FD rated in small bottles from Home Depot under the Echo and Husqvarna names. STIHL dealers carry FD rated 2-cycle lfuid - it it the only one STIHL recommends in their 2-stroke units.
