Need Help!!
 

I recently just got a 2005 automatic RX8 with 131000 miles but it seems to have an issue anytime I go over 4 RPMs, the car will drop in RPMs and we'll just kind of putter along and eventually we'll catch up. If I keep the rpm low I can still go over 50mph but can't get over 70mph. Any tips on why this is happening?

What gear is it in when it drops? Sounds like a transmission issue to me, rpms can't drop without a gear change.

It's usually anytime I go above 5rpm but it doesn't always happen just 90% of the time. I can get it to 8 close to 9RPM when I try and red line in neutral(it's an automatic). But again when shifting into any gear if I go above 5rpm it will just slow down and bog along bouncing between 4-5rpm with no increase to the speed unless I shift up to drop the ram then it usually will gain speed.
