My car is lacking at 4500-5000 rpm
How’re you doing, I recently moved here from Texas and I bought an rx8 there and had the engine rebuilt there and moved down here to Florida. I have a problem where as I accelerate my power stroke stops near 4500-5000 rpm I changed the SSV and the 2 vacuum solenoid and that still didn’t fix the problem I also removed the car and check to see if it was clogged. Any idea would be great.
Also If anyone knows any good rotary mechanics in Fl that’d be great. |
Petitt Racing are one of THE rotary mechanics and are in Florida.
Who did the rebuild? Are there any other issues or just this? I would check if the fuel injectors are correctly wired, but if that were the problem (which isn't uncommon after an engine change), you would gave other symptoms. |
Does it happen every time or is it a random occurrence?
|
I did it at some place called rotary shop in Texas, but everytime I get to those high rpm areas I hear pops from the exhaust
|
And this happens every time I drive
|
I recently had my engine replaced after 3 years and the mechanic experienced stuttering going uphill.
It needed a new fuel pump. |

I went through 3 pumps in 10 years. |
No CELs or codes?
|
Air - clean MAF? No obstructions?
Fuel - good fuel pressure under load (58psi)? ignition - new coils and plugs? Strong battery and alternator? Exhaust - no catalytic converter clogs? I had hesitation at high RPM and it turned out to be clogged cat. Easiest way to check is pull out o2 sensor and look with endoscope. |
