Read the advice in the "New Members, New Owners read this first" section on mods.
There isn't a whole lot you can do to get increased power ... very little increase available. Think about it. You have an 80 cubic inch engine that puts out 238 horsepower. that's pretty incredible. There just ain't much more to be had without going turbo or supercharging. |

If you're not racing, think about reliability mods like BHR coils and a sohn adapter. |

However, if you're wanting to shed some weight, you'll want to look into one of the bigger brands (Enkei, for instance). Smaller is also lighter, as many run 17s. I personally run 18x8 Enkei PF01, which are slightly lighter than stock and look good to me (and that's the only person's opinion who matters ;) ). TPMS is completely optional if you can stand the constant idiot light being on. Brake upgrades can be as easy as putting on some Hawk HPS pads on (that's all I've done, the car stops much quicker, and it gave me an excuse to paint the calipers). Obviously, there's a lot more you can do based upon what you're going for (purely street, tracking, autocross, etc.). Suspension mods, again, are subjective. It's what you want the car to do. 100 people could list 100 different "best" suspension combinations to you. Just do your research and find what matches your goals. TL;DR - compression test, then mods. Much longer; for readers - https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...rx-8-a-233937/ |
I'm not really racing. I just like to cruise the backroads kinda hard lol. I like to push my limits there's not entirely to much I can do its only the 6 speed automatic....
The sohn looks like something ill be Interested. I'm not exatly a gear head myself but I do my own oil changes and breaks andstuff. So don't flame me for asking.... whays wrong with the cheaper turbos pff ebay? From what I'm reading its the apex seals that were all concerned about is it guaranteed your gonna blow your engine if you turbo/super charge the engine? I know the extra stresses on yhe engine and seals is gradualy take its toll isn't there a gentlenway to go about it? Like not run so much boost? So sorry for the noob questions gotta start somewhere Also with the sohn adapter does is cause an issue with emissikns testing? |

I have a 2006..
Also thinking of upgrading the pulleys and belts |
Don't touch the pulleys, you'll just cause issues. Belts are always worth replacing.
Epitroch sells a nice little OMP adapter kit that you should look at. All you have to be careful of is the type of oil you put in has to be catalyst safe. |
