Ls swap question

I'm unable to post in the non rotary swap section. I did search around and couldn't find any info.

But here's my question. To help save money on the swap I was wondering if anyone has ever mated the RX8 6 speed to an ls engine? I have a 01 camaro donor car but it an auto and t56 trans are expensive. If possible I could use the RX8 transmission and driveshaft and save money. Thanks for any info

You’d have to build a custom adapter plate and then hope it can handle the torque.

Another option is a CD009 from a Z. People already know it can take the torque and there are already adapters to make it fit.

I have seen a few things on the Nissan transmission. But after buying a plate and used trans it's just as expensive if not more than a t56

Supposedly the S1 Aisin transmissions are pretty fragile. There is a reason why S1 folks switch to S2 transmissions. I would be surprised if it doesn't break from the level of torque an LS engine is capable of, which is more than double of a Renesis.
