Looking To Buy a Used RX-8

Greetings Everyone. I'm a new member here and I signed up because I am a big fan of the RX-8 even though I've never owned one.

My question for this topic is this. I'm looking to buy a used RX-8 but have a few concerns if you can help or direct me with my questions.

1. Are repair parts still easily available?

2. Are parts expensive and hard to find?

3. How reliable is a used RX-8? Any used buyers have experience they'd like to share.

4. Are there any common problems with the RX-8's in general?

5. Should I buy one with low miles or high miles?

6. Should I be concerned with a rotary engine? How reliable is it?

7. Can anyone offer advice or their experience with the rotary engine flooding?

Bottom line is that I don't want to buy a used RX-8 if it's going to give me a lot of headache by breaking down a lot and then the high cost of fixing it when I take it in to the shop. I know it's a foreign car but I love Mazda since I already own a Mazda3.

Thanks for your time. I hope you all can help me make a decision.

Read RIWWP's New and Potential Owner's sticky in the new member's forum.

It will answer all those questions, also make sure you get a compression test.

Cheers

Yes, read this first. 12 years of new owners asking the same questions over and over again fed this thread: New and Potential Owners START HERE! - RX8Club.com

Read it all first, if you don't find answers to your questions in there, read it again.

The only question not really answered in there is parts. Yes, parts are still easily available, expensive from the dealer, cheaper from Mazmart or local auto parts stores.

I know it's a foreign car
What's the problem with a foreign car? This isn't the 1950s, where if you brought a car back from Europe you'd be challenged to find parts or anyone to work on it.

I appreciate everyone being as polite as they can with me since a ton of new members are asking the same questions as I am. When I said foreign I was merely talking about the price for parts. I will look into the link you all have provided. Thanks for you time.
