A little worried
I bought my RX8 a month or so ago. It's 2004 with 45k miles but it has 11 FORMER OWNERS! Now the RX8 starts fine, runs fine and from what I can gather is perfect. When I bought it the car did a 250 mile test drive back to my house but I can't afford to keep the rx8 now so I'm wanting to sell. What do you guys think of 11 different owners? would this seriously put you off and what are the chances of me ever selling the car now?

Yes it would put me off and I would only have bought it if it was dirt cheap. And why all of the sudden can you not afford it?

For me...I wouldn't look at it twice or even test drive it knowing it had that many owners.
And I'm kinda curious too why you want to all of a sudden get rid of it? Did you not do your research before buying the car and the costs that it can incur? |
Seems like poor planning to me. And yes I would never buy a car with that many owners unless I planned to build the car from the bottom up.

You bought it after it had 11 owners...someone else bought it after 10 owners...why should 12 be a deal killer if 10 and 11 weren't? Other than a superstitious person afraid of being #13?
Just figure a reasonable asking price, put it on the market, and see what you can get. Ken |

Thanks for the honesty guys.
I have traced the owners back and can account for the majority, main reason being lack of knowledge prior to buying the car. Young people like me insuring the car and not being able to afford it hence the high owners/low mileage. The car is perfect, it starts all the time everything else is great and there's no indication to any fault whatsoever. I'll reject the offer lol... I'm happy keeping the car if needs be. Initially I researched about MPG but went on inaccurate info. Now I know the real MPG and everything else thanks to this site. 16MPG is just too expensive for me, if there was a way to increase this to almost 25-30 I'd be over the moon. I really really really don't want to sell my 8. I LOVE it, but I just can't afford constant fuel on top of all the maintenance The site I went on before buying the 8 told me I'd get over 25 but everyone on here is getting around 16. I've also heard high-flow cat can improve MPG? any advise is greatly appreciated. Higher MPG = no sale & very happy me. Thanks for everybody who posted |

If you are putting 93 in your car, maybe you could save some $$ by going 91 or lower. I always run 93 but I believe have used lower without issue. |

Movies? Concerts? Nights out on the town? Do you really need a girlfriend? And if you trade down to a Chevy Aveo or a Prius, would you still have a girlfriend anyway? Ken |

Do the math before doing anything precpitous. If you bought it in a private sale, then you have a shot at coming out more or less even. But if you bought it from a dealer, you'll take a bath on resale. Make sure the savings in gas will make up for that.
