I'm curious on a 2 step launch kit for my 05 6 SPD any one have one for sale or know of any got sites "with a link" to the site? My buddy said he could wire one in from his car "Chevy cobalt 06" but I'd rather buy the kit. Any suggestions?

What are you trying to accomplish?

fatlace120 03-07-2015 01:30 AM

What do you mean? The car is bone stock other then the 1,000$ borla exhaust its got I want to add some things to it such as suspension engine mods ext rims paint its a project car but first if like for it to sound good then its gonna look good and finally I'll put low compression rotars and what not and build the engine

9krpmrx8 03-07-2015 10:52 AM

I mean are you trying to drag race? Low compression rotors?

fatlace120 03-07-2015 07:37 PM

No I want it. Simple as that. I'm gonna make the car look and sound good its gonna be quick and I'm just wondering about it if its made for the car and or what a good brand is ect.

fatlace, you are making some really really bad assumptions here...

There isn't a single product on the market designed to deal with "launching" the RX-8, much less a "2-step".

The comments about "low compression rotors" also show that you know next to nothing about how this engine makes power. I recommend a lot of research. Just friendly advice.

Another friendly piece of advice regarding mods...

The list of power/acceleration/top-speed mods available for the RX-8 is very very short. The amount of power that they all provide COMBINED can take your RX-8 from 200whp to 220whp. A gain of 10%. Mods are also much more expensive for the RX-8 than comparable mods of other cars, and with a far smaller improvement.

That Borla exhaust you have changes sound, not speed. No catback adds power, some remove it. At least you went with one of the two most reputable brands.

Reset your perceptions and opinions about what is possible with this car, it doesn't parallel other tuner cars in any way.

I never said it adds power the cars stock I'm not looking to make it a rocket. Its one of those keep it clean and sound good kinda things and no your right I know nothing about rotary that's why I'm asking questions I'd like them simple questions answered with a simple answer not this complex beat around the bush crap if been getting for example I asked if the car could handle simple 4-5 lbs of boost I'm not gonna use it just want it there looks and sounds good I'm getting all this crap about engine swaps and what not I asked a simple question. Can the car hold 4-5 lbs of F.I. not 30. I mean I stated I'm new to the sight I can barely find how and were I gotta post took me almost and hour last night to figure it out. I'm new to everything I know very little about there cars.... That's why I'm asking questions Google don't tell me much I joined this sight to learn from experienced owners not some crap Google can come up with. Straight from the owner is better then Google lol. Not trying to sound cocky or a smart ass just saying how I feel. I don't need people trolling and what not I just wanted a simple answer.. Iv seen rx8 with 2step launch control stuff on YouTube I'll try to wire one in..

Most of the information your looking for can be found in these threads. As per your question of "can the renesis handle 4-5LBS of boost" the answer is yes.

Whether your not you can do it reliably is completely up to the setup you choose, the health of your engine and how well you complete your task.

No one here will spoon feed you information, were here to help Yes. The only thing you will get by posting nothing but questions without reading anything is flamed.

If you read through everything and come up with legitimate questions that haven't been answered no one will have any problems leading you in the right direction.

It was friendly advice. I guess you didn't take it that way?

There are things that people don't want to hear, but they are still true anyway, and us saying them doesn't make us "trolling".
