why did you get rid of a super fast EVO to get an 8? they are very different cars... 8 is more of a true sports car but FAR slower... most of the guys I know who have EVOs/STis would trash talk the 8 and say it's slow...

Welcome to the club Svenni, finally there are some other owners from Iceland joining in,
I can see I got my self a small race who are gona modifie the 8 more here in Iceland Which is good!
But as some of the guys said, why air suspension? Why ruin the ride quality and the suspension that the 8 are known for?
Just go for a good coilover system, whice has good street comfort mode, fx. Stance GR system, IŽm thinking of buying one for the summer, could buy together to save some of the overprice shipping to Iceland

the mazda is much more comfortable, much better car, looks even better, chicks like it more than an evo, it has everything i need and want. im not going to use it as a drift car og a performance car. only a daily driver with great looks :D
i had the nameplate on the evo [2 FAST] and for the mazda i ordered a new nameplate for the mazda [2 SLOW] haha

There also are coilovers that are more comfortable than the stock ones if set on the softest setting and track worthy if adjusted accordingly
Trading an awd car with a great engine for a rwd momentum car is a tough choice anyway, cornering will be fun though

ive had enough with the 4wd turbo cars for a while!
ive had a 2000 subaru impreza gt turbo, a 2006 subaru impreza wrx with alot invested, mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 with some mods, and ofcourse two evo's, thats about as much as i can handle for now. the way im feeling now is like i dont ever wanna see any of them again im also not going to use the car as a drift car just a comfortable daily with the looks on the right place :D
thanks alot :d

I drove several STis and evos (VI mr, VII and IX... the cool ones :p) but they're not my cup of tea, AWD sucks around a track
I have just bought a set of Ohlins DFV and they're a nice mid level coilover system for the money. Still not too track oriented and esily streetable. Sorry to threadjack you anyway

glad to see you appreciate the 8. i don't have an RX8... i've considered buying one... I *almost* bought one a couple years ago... I was looking for a fun / toy car and looked at the S2000, RX8, EVO, STi, and ended up in a used boxster. i was so close to buying the RX8...even had one on a "take home" overnight type test drive... my dad got wind I was goign to buy something, and he decided he wanted to get rid of his boxster, and we worked out a deal I couldnt' say not to.. helped him get out of a car he was tired of, and saved me money.. the downside was... REPAIR BILLS. wow. i put a LOT of money into repairs, and got fed up with how much I wa paying for a toy car, so I sold it... the boxster was a spare car.. not my DD.... now I'm sickof my DD and want to replace it with a sporty sedan or 2+2.
back when I was shopping, I test drove an EVO 9 - thought I was going to love it, and honestly I hated it. i thought it was a cheap little POS econobox. it was kind a fast..but I did not like it at all. i left the test drive completely underwhelmed and had zero desire to buy one.
after test driving an RX8 I wanted to buy it. it felt like a true sports car. and was loads of fun.
you picked the right car for having fun!!! fun is NOT about speed. my boxster was Tons of fun and it was an older 2.7L non-S model with "only" 217hp... it was TONS more fun than many high hp cars... it handled amazing, top down was fun.... bottom line - you can have fun in a "slow" car...
the RX8 is a seriously FUN car. period!
BTW, your's looks really nice!!!

congrats on your purchase, regarding roads I'm from kingston and our roads are built under limestone, where the water easily gets at and forms pot holes and cracks, every year after winter theres construction on them, so I knwo what you are going through... as everyone said 18's are the way to go , if you have 18x8.5 rims go with 255/40/18 those would look nice, but heavy. so how are the women in iceland? lol

yeah also the roads in iceland are made over swamps and lavas and stuff hehe.
but 18" is the same size as orginal are, i would rather prefer 19" og 20" with 245/30 profile tires. just for the looks. im not interested in drifting or anything like that. i just want it to look very very nice :D hehe
the women are pretty nice :D heheh

Sweet move to the RX8. It may be slower than what you had before, but it's an awesome car to drive, regardless.
Speaking of your previous car, I also had an '06 Evo IX MR SE in the past. I didn't modify it as nearly as much as you, but still did a few things.
The Evo and the RX8 aren't similar in speed, but they both connect with the driver very well.
Love both cars for sure.

There is only one person that bought an air system for the 8 that I am aware of.
Search and you may find it.
Air is too expensive and not worth it.
Your better off getting one of those automatic kits where you push a button and it adjust the height.

is it just me, or in this very first post, second picture of the rx8, the man to the right of the car (blurry) isnt wearing pants, or is in the process of putting/taking them off/on... or so it looks... haha
