hi guys new to the forum!

I have a 05 rx8

I was driving and hoped on the freeway and then my car just stopped running and wouldn't start back up. It was also raining. After awhile when I towed it back to the house I got it to start.

I'm having an issue where i have cel
Code is p0302.

I changed the spark plugs and wires and new coils.

Cleaned the maf sensor. Also took out the ssv and cleaned that super clean.

It sounds like it's running on rotor.

Luckily, a reliable rotary shop is within a states drive of you, if not closer. Might try limping it to Black Halo Racing.

Time to run a compression test. You did what you could but you need to know the state of the engine's health.

Thanks you guys!
Black halo racing I'll give it a look up.

Also ya I want to do a compression test, I read that I can use any compression tester but I have to do something with a valve?

Rotary Specific compression tests require a rotary specific compression tester. There is ways to make a manual tester work, but I honestly don't know how to do it, you might be able to youtube it.

Its a pretty crude method using piston engine compression tester and will give you a general idea of the engine's health but you won't have hard numbers to determine compression results.

hi guys just updating im in contact with BHR yes luckily he is only like 40 min away if that . he also suggested a compression test and is most likely coming by sometime soon and ill update whats going on.

Hey guys!
sorry i forgot to post, but i ended up buying (financing) a new engine thru mazda.
i never did figure out what caused the misfire cyl2.

I did contact BHR and they emailed me back saying they could do a compression test on it. but by that time i just needed a car but i have had it back for 2 months already.

I also drove it 1k miles under 4k rpm which i was told to do so through them and ofcourse i let my car warmed up fully before driving it and waited to shut it off. its like a baby at this point lol
