Guys I Need Help please! Rx8

okay so im only a youngin lol 17 yrs old and ive had my 8 for about a month now. i just wanna know if im doing all these things is right.

so every morning i usually warm the car up until the temperature needle gets in the middle where its supposed to be and then i do 10 mins of short shifting. after all that i should be able to rev the car as much as i want? then i normally wait for about a few mins and rev the engine up to 3k rpm for 10secs before i turn the car off. especially in cold weather. burning carbon. i heard redline a day keeps the carbon away. and ik redlining in neutral is bad for ya engine. ive done that ones bc i was being stupid but never did it again. i usually beat tf outta my car since i got it. i redline mine 1st to 2nd gear. is that a bad/good thing? what about yall? premixing. i add about 120ml bc thats what the previous owner said. so i add about that much to a full tank. i wanna know how much you guys put in bc i dont wanna put much or less oil.

So my question is... am i doing all these right???
Also would be appreciated if you guys give me more advice thanks

I would not redline it every drive, its not needed... and not in 1st gear too .. thats not good .. do it in 2nd 3rd gear if u have to. Premix is on the low side with 120ml ... i use 250ml for every fill up .. but that depends on the usage of the engine .. for Autobahn drives i use 500ml per tank.

How long the car needs to warmup depends on the outside temps .. in Winter i struggle to get it hot enough if i dont block the air to at least one oil cooler.

Greetings
Thomas

Don't warm her up by idling. You waste gas and create more carbon. Just drive it and keep the RPM below 4k until the need gets up to them middle.

Warm up by idle if you drive a carbureted FB RX-7. On an RX-8(or any fuel injected car), it achieves nothing but wasting fuel. Start the car, wait for 15 seconds(put on your seat belt, turn to your favorite radio station, etc.) and keep the revs under 4000 RPM.

Never shut off my car by holding the gas pedal. Again, just wastes fuel.

I don't drive economically, but I do avoid needless idling. I don't turn my car off at every stoplight(too harsh on the starter and battery), but if I am waiting for someone, then absolutely. Remember that the amount of gas needed to start the car is roughly the same as the amount needed to idle for 7 seconds.

I personally drive the car hard, as mentioned. I don't really see anything wrong with 1st gear redline. The power is all at the higher RPM range, so if you want to pass someone, you will be revving high anyway. This isn't a V8 or I4T. You need the revs. And you need very good self-restraint to not rev this car high.

As for premix, I follow the half ounce per gallon rule(4 mL per L for metric people).

A Renny with good ignition and strong battery should never flood.

This is extremely true.

My 8 has super horrible compression, like not even on the official compression test result chart provided by Mazda for checking if a engine passes or fails a compression test. I have an extremely healthy ignition system and a healthy battery, and with my upgraded starter I have never had my 8 flood.
