the great oil debate

so i was just wondering i mean i know climate zone does have an effect but where are you from and what oil grade / brand do you use i live in New jersey and was considering 10w-40 cause its freezing point is below -31F for those cold winter nights (wont ever reach that cold but hey itsn not doing any damage so why not) and boiling point is 104F maybe in the summer might change grades to adapt to the heat but ehh winters coming and this should work for now....

WHAT DO YOU GUYS USE? WHAT GRADE? WHAT BRAND? WHY? WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

I like to hear other peoples opinions on the topic its interesting to me

Let me google that for you

This has been debated about fifty million times. Search and you shall find.

EDIT:
To please the crowd: I use Castrol GTX 5w30. (Conventional)

Edit again:
Closest city to me is St. Louis. We get fairly extreme temperatures on both ends of the spectrum. Obviously not -40 or anything but a good range of below freezing to over 100 throughout the year.

We really, really, REALLY don't need any new oil threads.

Really.

Really.

Does it really turn that much into an ignorant debate ? I mean ive see. A few other threads but they went from talking about oils to wanting to murder each other lmao and half of them were too long to read

One of the forum rules of decorum is to search for threads on the same topic that you are interested in. If there is a current thread with the information that you are looking for...post in that thread and don't start a new thread unless it is something NEW ;)

The oil debate is not NEW...not even close. It has been beaten to death..and there will never be any agreement on what is best...let alone what Brand

Please don't post needless threads
