Got another 8 but found wires unplugged

It's cold starts and its heading to a local rotary race shop in Orlando for a rebuild and port (once the guy has space available at his shop)

i just went under the car to see check the cat. It was broken up so I gutted it until I can do full exhaust once its rebuilt and broken in.
Since it's so low, I noticed it was pretty banged up underneath but I found a pair of wires by the o2 connector that were not plugged in but looked like they are supposed to be? Can anyone identify and lmk if they're supposed to be connected or not and why its there? The traction control light is on if that is related. Thanks in advance

The white plugs go to the transmission switches on the top of the motor. The other one is the rear O2 sensor plug. There should be 2 black ones like the white ones plugged in as well.

After trying a couple cheap obd scanners, I cannot get a reading. The scanner wont even power up. The car has extremely low compression and is being rebuilt right now (I pick it up in a week or 2) Then I read that the reverse light switch causes problems with obd port? I left the reverse wires unplugged bc I figured the po must've done that due to bad switch. I cant check the water temp and bought an in-line hose temp gauge/sensor (accidentally got it in celcius though) so I can still see what's going on.

I dont have the car with me so I cant check anything atm but this might keep me from getting the computer reflashed to high idle rpm and 10% omp increase.

So many new parts!

You can check the neutral and reverse switches pretty easily. IIRC, the connectors for each are single pin so they must ground through the trans case, to the motor, and into the body.

Put the car up on jack stands and put the shifter into neutral. Check for continuity between each connector coming out of the trans and some of clean, bare metal. Repeat with the shifter in reverse.

If your OBD connector won't power up check your fuses....

When I get the car back I'll check the continuity...as for the fuses-they are all fine (and bulbs good too) it doesn't bother me if the rev lights don't work. I just want to be able to use the obd port

It might not bother you if the reverse lights don't work but the people behind you probably appreciate them.
