Flashing CEL

Ok so I know that a flashing CEL is a misfire.. ive done a lot of research..

I replaced all the plugs with the correct NGK Iridiums, NGK wires and all 4 coils..

but still at high rpm the CEL will still flash, yet there are no codes for misfire?

only thing I get is P2096 and P0661

Car runs amazing with no hiccups? Im thinking MAF >?

Well you have an SSV issue and you are running lean, so a misfire makes sense.

Is the SSV something I can troubleshoot myself or do I just need to take it in

That depends on your skill level and your ability to learn. But generally it is a pretty simple setup.

Possibly I have the same issue. I am getting Rotor 1 missfires and P0661 Powertrain Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit Low (Bank 1) *Coils and plugs are brand new btw.

Keep on getting a Cylinder 1 misfire code always when the RPM goes 4,000, or above. I bought brand new BHR ignition system( Coils, Wires, Plugs). Tried reving the engine (all this is happening after the the engine in the Correct temperature aka half). Took the car to A Rotary Especialist. They said it could be the Fuel Pump, so i got them to install an upgrade one and a midpipe since my cat went out from all the misfires. Anyways got the car back today and everytime i went past the 4k Rmp i kept getting flashing CEL but it kept going aways instantly. Got home and on a turn did one final test Run by going past to the redline and again CEL flashes and this time it stays on. Took it to get the code checked and again its a 301 cylinder misfire

Be sure all of your plug wires are 'snapped' on tightly to the plugs & coils.

Only thing i can think of is a Vacuum leak or Sensor. Either dirty or need new sensor. Or clean the Eshaft. Other than that all the things the post said check out fine. Like the car runs fine. Starts fine, hot or cold starts are fine and no problem just the over 4k rpm misfires and appears to always only be in cylinder one???

Are you sure the BHR kit is installed correctly? Spark plugs torqued correctly? Wires running to the correct plugs and snapped on securely? No harness wires pinched by the bracket? Properly grounded?

Also, you say everything checks out fine, then you list the sensors that you haven't touched. So, technically speaking, "everything" does not check out fine. You have to actually check allthethings.

i mentioned everything that was still not check out which is vacuum leaks and if eshaft or Sensor is dirty. I will also have to go to another shop to see if the BHR ignition system is correctly installed like u advice. Just got so lil options on who to trust on getting my car looked at since i feel like all shops just wanna get money. And worst is most shops in the Chicago area im sure don't know much about rotaties

Did you have a proper rotary-specific compression test performed? That test provides 8 numbers: 3 compression numbers for each of 2 rotors and 1 RPM number for each of 2 tests. If the shop does not provide you those numbers for comparison against a known standard, you cannot be sure of the health of the engine.

The shop i took it to specialize on rotary engines only. I dont think they even take piston engine cars cuz i seen nothing but rx7 and Rx8s. Anyway i mentioned this to them an hour ago and they replied to make an appointment with them. I guess they are gonna retake the compression test so they give me those numbers this time. And hopefully they check the remaining things in the checklist of things that might be it. Thx i will post any advances and if i find the cause for future references on others. Wishing myself luck. I want this to be over so i can finally be worry free

If it is a reputable shop, it sounds like a good course of action to have them help you out, assuming you are not confident in working on the car yourself. Do insist on data from their tests, so you can get a second opinion on the results. This forum is more than willing to help with this stuff--especially when you can provide information. Good luck.
