Engine problems

Need some help. I bought an 08 (40th ann ed) last June. I drove the car till November then put it away for the winter. Up till now, the only real problem I had was an intermittent FOB. When I reset the FOB the 8 would not start, and I had it halled into Mazda. They did a compression check, and half the engine was in the 2's..... so new engine. It has been sitting at Mazda in Racine Wi. for 10 days now because there is a "conversation" between Mazda and the extended warranty place over who is going to pay for the rebuild. Mazda came back to me this AM stating that in 2011 (previous owner) the exhaust was modified, and that nulls the warranty, and this info will be sent to the ext warranty co, and I am sure that they will not cover it either.....any suggestions?

Modding the exhaust has nothing to do with it, they're trying to find anything to get out of paying for the repair, go figures.

1) Have them show you where modified exhaust voids the warranty.

2) Have them explain how a modified exhaust caused low compression in the engine.

Read the thread below for more info, like every good business they're trying to keep their profit margin as high as possible. Don't let them swindle you.

Hey I have a full exhaust on my car and the warranty wasn't not void that has nothing to do with the intake or air of anything so there should not he a reason why it is void you might wanna argue with them a bit cause thats bull
