Engine Light blinking a couple of times
As I went out for a drive today, I was feeling a little too happy and decided to live a little. As I was nearing 8,000 rpm in 2nd gear and about to shift to 3rd, I felt the car slow down as I geared up. Then the check engine light started blinking for a few seconds. It turned off as soon as I put the car in neutral. So I decided to take it slow for a few minutes. After taking it slow, I wanted to see if it would still do it. To my surprise it did it again and each time I get close to 8,000 rpm, it looses so power but the check engine light never stay on. I was thinking it could be a misfire but then again, if it were, the check engine light should've stayed on. Anyone know a few things or two?

Blinking light is almost always a misfire. That usually points to a tired ignition or a tired fuel pump.
Enough of them will set the CEL. Data on age, miles and how old ignition is would be helpful. |

Well if you don't know then it is time for a tune up.

++ ^^^ 9K nailed it.
Coils, plugs, and likely wires. I would not start out with one of the upgraded ignitions until you have the car all sorted out. |
Ok and I had my codes read, I had a p0302 misfire on cylinder 2. I will definitely start by replacing the coils, wires and plugs. As of sorting it out, I don't know what you mean.

What's the best coils and wires in your opinions? There are plenty out there from $60 to $110

Sorry was in a rush.
Sorting something is going on that involves the engine not running correctly. You do not know what (ignition likely, but not sure). Sorting is getting back as close to the way it was intended before attempting mods. Autozone sells coils, BHR sells plugs and wires. I think that is what I did last time. Also, I recommend the Congrats thread below. The ESS is rather visible while doing plugs with the wheel off. Note, plugs are changed through the front left wheel well. |

What is referred to here as the BHR ignition kit has coils, it's a plug & play unit.
BHR also sells wires and plugs independent of the ignition kit. |
