Electrical Steering wheel Issue

But here we go. I added a fuse pump toggle switch pretty easily and have it hidden pretty good.

So I wanted to continue with the Aux, ignition toggles and push button start .so I took the left side steering well connectors out to meter out the voltages and what got used and then all of a sudden the connect went dead no cutting of wires no jumpering or not even a grounding out. It literally just went dead as multi meter said nothing for DC. So I connected back and tried starting car and again nothing. So started to check ALL fuses cigerate one burned out and one under the hood so I replaced them with working ones. But still nothing. So I thought relays and I know which ones I can see if they work or not in the spot So i checked every relay still nothing and still getting nothing to dash, steering wheel or anything so what did I do? I know a fusiable link could be the issue but have no fing idea where to begin or even know if there is one. There's none by the batter or under hood that I could even see.

I know I should of just pulled the connectors out of the right side of the steering wheel and did it that way but I didn't want key to do anything except for unlock the steering wheel

You likely still have a blown fuse....so keep looking. You are going to have to make sure the wiring is all hooked up properly again and the fuses are all good

I've metered out the fuses and everything bud. In both places everything is working. A fuseable link foena 18awg wire I can't see that but I could be wrong. Literally still no power can't go to work and can't afford a mechanic right now. So I'm pretty shit out of luck.

So what exactly were you trying to accomplish here? Maybe with a little better understanding of the project we can help troubleshoot.

So you don't have power at the dash, but where do you have power? You said you've metered the fuses, so where all is there voltage? For the entire dash to be dark, you're talking about something way upstream from the individual radio, steering, etc circuits. Something common like the room fuse.

The room fuse is good. I just dont have power to dash/ignition membrane. Relays are all good. I'm wondering is there a fuseable link some where? The dash lights come on when I open the door have the little car with key in it. Ignition connector / membrane doesn't have power. It's frustrating. Everybody says fuses I literally took out every fuse that i can find in the service manual. And took out and metered them they all have connectivity.

Wait, is the car with the key in it permanently lit or flashing once in 2 seconds?
Permanently lit = immobilizer is active and blocking you from starting

Blinking every 2 seconds. If I take off the connectors there's no power but I don't want to do that again because it's caused me this issue I'm having now. I litterly have no power to the ignition switch. It could be upstream if there's a fuseable link inside the car. Downstream all seems good power to fuse block and every fuse. Power to every fuse in the car everything is working but everything is not working. Wonder if I have to pop open the center counsol to see if there's a fuse there by chance. I'm lost I've tried everything I know. I'm picking at straws right now.

Okay I figured it out previous owner had a starter taken out so lovely of him to just leave wirew dangling so was shorting out the fuse. When I changed it everything was good for a brief second or so tell your lag hits something or the steering wheel so blew the fuse I replaced.
