Driver Power Lock Not opening with FOB
Hi,
The drivers side power lock isn't opening with the FOB remote. The strange thing is that I'm hearing a clicking sound coming from the door, so I'm assuming that the motor should be "okish. I was going to purchase a motor as it doesn't cost that much but before I do so i would like to check what other causes apart from the acuator motor i should look at. I know that its best to dismantle the panel before but how I like to work is to do abit of research before actually getting to work. The passenger side door and boot work ok. The issue is on both locking and unlocking and the clicking sound could be heard on both modes. Also if its the motor, is the actuator easy to dismantle or i need to cut it open ? Thanks, Etienne |
Yeah the door motors/actuators can wear out with age. There's a contact track which delimits the range of motor travel, and it can wear at the ends such that you only get contact through part of the movement. So yes it moves and clicks, but not far enough.
You don't want to just replace the motor, the spare part for this is the whole motor/ actuator/lock combo, I would replace the whole thing rather than try to dismantle, there are riveted and glued joins in there. |

Thanks for the suggestion. One thing as I'm confused, does the Mazda 6 actuator module good as a replacement? As i m seeing posts that people replaced this with a Mazda 6 one. |
Any ideas re Mazda 6 Actuator if it fits ?

No idea, check if the Mazda part number for both cars is the same.
