Cornering Problem - Can Anyone Help?
One of my RX-8's front wheels has a judder/rubbing sound when aggressively cornering.
There is also excessive body roll towards this side. I had this issue before when the suspension drop link was broken but they all look intact. Anything else this could be? Best Wishes Dr RX-8 |
Did you change tires or wheels?
Tie rods straight? If they are bent it can cause the wheels not to align properly. Bent rim? |
How did you know?
Yes, I just recently got the rear tyres replaced.
Same front and back Bridgestone RE050A. Best wishes Dr RX-8 |
I would check all suspension components, ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, and the struts anyone of them could cause an issue. Just lift the car off the ground and give everything a good shake.

Only when cornering? I hit a sizable pothole this winter and I'd get some pretty nasty vibration above 65mph. I had a bent wheel and knocked my alignment out a tad. Once corrected, it was much much better and now that I've replaced the front wheel bearing assemblies, it rides like a dream. Time for the back...:uhh:

could an inner fender be sagging? Springs dropping the car too much? swaybar issues? Too much weight inside the car?
