Compression test post purchase?
 

I just purchased an '04 RX-8 (6-speed) yesterday (not totally title needs his spouse signature as well). The problem is as I am now surmising by reading the forum there were things/questions I should have asked. The first being getting a compression test. I guess ultimately my question is this should I still do that post the fact or just ask the question I can of him and start doing the items as recommended in the beginner forum as need i.e. plugs, coils etc?

I do have to say the test ride was fun.....:)

If the deal is done, which it sounds like it may be, then you should try to get all the service history you can on the vehicle. If you haven't completed the sale, I would at least make the deal contingent on the results of a compression test. Even if you pay for the test, $119 - $150 now is certainly less then the cost of an engine replacement later. Good luck.
