Broken spark plug

Trailing

Leading
So I got a p0301 the other day, reset it and had no further code til today. (It was only in pending) I checked the plugs and saw that the leading plug had lost its lead. Does this necessarily mean rebuild territory or could I be in the clear? I haven’t gotten a compression test quite yet.

They shouldn't come off easily. Make sure you get them through a legitimate source. I doubt that many people would bother making fake spark plugs for a low-volume car like ours, but you never know. I recommend Mazmart.

If you are lucky, the lead could just have got blown out of the exhaust port before doing any damage. If you are unlucky, it could have scraped something. The only way to know is with the compression test.

it was from autozone and it was the OEM NGK spark plugs 🤦🏼*♂️ I’ll just switch that one out tomorrow and get a compression test soon.

Damn bro, hope you have the receipt. Maybe let NGK know and get free plugs?
Best of luck.

Autozone should be a reliable source. I was just worried if you got them from some random eBay guys. I recommended Mazmart because they sell a set(2 of leading and trailing) for a decent price and is a good vendor.

may have to do them next time!! (I may have actually ordered from them. Not entirely sure. I just sent NGK a message to show them the damaged plug. Sucks cause it had a little less than 4K on the plug :(
