Broken oil injection tube
 

While working in cleaning up radiator hose connections , I noticed oil over the area and saw this 1/8" tube broken . That explains the oil ! See attached photo of broken tube .
Should I replace all the tubing . Three options here
1 buy oil tube from Mazdatrix at 55 each x 4 or just one
2 just replace the tubing . ten ft for 15 bucks ?
3 just repair tube ?

I would replace them all...they get old and brittle....and if one breaks it is likely that others will follow

Out of curiosity, is there any reason that the omp lines and banjo bolts can't be replace with some sort of oil proof vacuum tubing and threaded hose barbs?

Personally, I would stick with the OEM metal lines as there may be a pressure issue or a problem with the tubing degrading due to the oil in it with the setup you described. However, if I went with flexible lines, I would try a Parker Hose dealer to see if they could supply a steel-braided hydraulic hose and crimped-on hydraulic fittings, both of which meet the pressure requirements plus be impervious to the oil passing through them. The banjo fittings are available for such an application, as a rule. The only possible problem might be the hose size being so small compared to most normal hydraulic hoses.

This is about the omp lines, which are a hard plastic and quite small.

Several types of tubing will work.

People have tired other types of lines and I have heard of the braided lines leaking on the FC's but it of course depends on the lines used, fittings used, and who is putting them together. You can do whatever but the factory lines are just fine, lasting ten years in the environment they see is pretty good IMO. I have never seen or heard of them failing prematurely.

The 1/8 id teflon PFA tubing is rated for 300 deg and 200 PSI

Those lines don't carry pressure unless you have a clog in the system.

If you want a really good hose for the Applicantion go to parker and get -3 919 hose It's stainless braided PTFE. Rated for 400+ deg and probably 1500 PSI in that size.

Crimp them on your same banjos and be done with it.

The the ptfe tubing they used here seems like it worked out. It seems like the oem lines are hdpe which, like most things, will get brittle through heat cycling. I'm under the impression that most of the cost for stock lines comes from the fittings and specially formed tubes.

9k is right though, the oem lines are a near perfect option, I'm just exploring ideas.

If you can't figure that out then you surely will not be able to remake these lines with products from Parker. Just buy OEM lines and save yourself a lot of heart ache.

bishop, they are right. It isn't belittling you, it's just pointing out that this isn't something you shouldn't be messing with if a quick google search is beyond your skills. It's a "tough love" if you will. We have a very strong aversion here to just handing over information when demanded. There is a minimum of self-education and self-help that we expect other members to have. We are happy to offer advice, but we won't hold your hand through everything as if you were a kid. We expect that you are an adult, so if you show an unwillingness to take steps yourself, or an inability to do simple tasks, it makes us grind in our heels and stop offering information or help.

Yeah, you probably don't see anything harmful of asking us for a link, but it would be faster, more direct, and more useful for you to have simply googled the company name. It puts us off more than a bit that you weren't willing to do that and wanted us to do it for you.

I have a severely disabled wife here at home ! I still work some , I have 65 Japanese koi .dogs and cats to care for My plate is full ... This is not my fist rodeo .!!! I did a search for Parker and came up with janitorial supplies !!!! One industrial site in Texas . Then I ask for some info from a suggestion .
I have read your stuff here till my eyes bleed .... done all that ten mods that is possible for a new owner for a 100 bucks ...but am running into other issues such as a broken oil injector line !!
Radiator hoses leaking .. from mineral build up ....
I think I will just order a replacment line from MazdaMart because I do have too much to do at this time .

Whoa man, don't be so sensitive. Parker is one of the largest hose/fitting suppliers in the U.S., a quick Google search would show you many suppliers. That said, you have to understand that many come here expecting to be spoon fed. Not saying you are, I understand you have a lot on your plate, we all do. But a project like this requires due diligence so you would be better served doing some proper, prior, planning. Not all the advice here is always good advice.

Revving her to 9 K sure goes make me smile ..
When a simple project like pressure testing the cooling system turns to all hell and a hand basket ! But I am a firm believer in things always work out for the best . As the broken oil tube was behind the alternator bracket ! If I was not in the process of removing all radiator hose I would not have seen the broken tube ... So Happy to have found that broken tube !!!!! Things happen for a reason !!!
I am smart enough to know I dont need to make the same mistakes you guys have made !
I need help and will do the work .....

UPDATE to broken oil tube
I contacted Parker tubing and their local dealer . They would be glad to sell me a 100 ft roll . Granger same thing ! Found a piece of PFA tubing on amazon reasonably priced . How ever
I went to my local small engine shop and they had the Teflon PFA tubing in stock by the inch . Gas lines for small engines rated fo 300 deg temp.
I ended up using a small piece , to repair the broken line !!!! for now ...

Did you prime the line? Do some looking into premixing as if you have one of the other lines brake having some premix in the tank is better than running with a dry oiling system. Any safety measure you can take for peace of mind with a rotary could mean the difference between a $5000 engine and a $50 part.

I am using a premix . I added that in before I started it up . My engine is a series 1 . so Premix IMHO is a must !I see no need to prime injection tube . I started it up and watched oil flow though tube .
Things done
! Cooling system pressure tested and leaks repaired .
2 map valve cleaned
3 ess sensor cleaned
4 battery terminals cleaned
4 hole in under pan was repaired usind lid from a tote cut to fit and pop rivets gorilla duct tape
I have an after market front end ... have to get screens over oil coolers to do list
5 reset ac controls
6 recharged ac system after pulling a vacumm for several hours low levels for now
7 Oil an filter change
8 reset information display it now reads Griffs RX8 grin
9 reset time
10 hours and hours of reading !!
