Average water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure?

Hi!

Can I get some input on these average values for city driving?

I'm seeking about 183 -190F water temp, sometimes up to 200F with spirited driving.
185-195F oil temp
70 psi oil pressure with cruising, 20 psi at idle

These values look about normal?

Thanks in advance!

Temps look good.

Thanks.

Do you know what water temps and oil temps people are seeing at the track? Just wondering when I should start backing off and letting her cool down before I cause any engine issues.

That oil temp looks a little low to me. You generally want oil to run above the boiling point of water to promote condensation evaporation. Hopefully it is peaking above 212F for a period of time during most drives.

I ran peak water temps of 215 to 218F at the track, which did not scare me at the time. I just had my engine replaced due to coolant seal failure (and low compression). If I were to return the car to track duty, I would make the necessary changes to keep it closer to 200F.

Where are you measuring your oil temp? Before or after the coolers?

Good question. I’ll have to investigate. I bought the car used and it already had the gauges.

I average 170 for water and 160 for oil with an ambient temp of about 70. I can get the oil up to 170 if I start to push it and both will rise 10-20 degrees if I idle or drive under about 20mph. I measure at the pedestal and heater hose.

I know it's kind of a different topic but not really. What is fuel pressure supposed to hold at in psi I found most say 55-65 psi. Are my numbers correct cause I'm running a pressure test when the rain let's up (no garage 😩)

The oil temp is being measured after the coolers.

How do you keep your temps so low? What kind of mods do you have?

Are you comparing with similar ambient temperatures? I've found I can add 5 degrees to coolant for every 10 degrees of ambient. Oil you can do the same thing but only when pushing it or idle. I am using Versatuner to lower my fan temps -- but that's only to 196 and 203. I also have a midpipe which cooled the passenger floor a lot but that's about it for mods that impact temperature..

Must be that appearance package splitter :smoker:
By that I mean I wish I knew. Maybe it's normal and people only come here when they have issues.
