Average Tune up Price Canada?

I just got a quote from AAMCO for like $1250 what the heck. Is it hard to get these things in Canada or something ? just the plugs and wires filter. Anyone one from canada know if this is normal

It's really not normal. Coils, plugs, wires, filter should run you a few hundred but not that much. Buy them online from the US worst case.

That sounds like a "we can't be bothered doing the work, so let's throw a crazy price at it the labour just in case" kind of quote.
New plugs/coils/wires should be $385 + shipping from Mazmart. Even with shipping to Canada, duty etc. it should be less than $500. Add in the cost of air filter, crush washers and all of your fluids locally (coolant, transmission, differential) you should be about $700 for parts.
Should take about 1-2 hours to do all of that if you know what you are doing, an afternoon if you don't. So, sounds like they are quoting about $500 for labour.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous , best way would be to order the parts from the US and reliable websites ? even ebay perhaps?

I would avoid eBay. The frequency of counterfit coils isn't worth it.
Just buy those parts from Mazmart. They are a forum sponsor, have a forum on the site, and almost always have the best price on OEM parts.

Yes the air filter alone will run you $70 from Mazda and coils+wires+plugs = $5 something..

Your best bet is to order Bhr ignition it will run you 700 shipped. but the good part is you wont need to replace coils again, just replace your plugs every 30k for $100.

Fluids, you may get redline from Pacific mall in Toronto like $20 each bottle one for rear diffrentials and 1.5 for tranny.

Go to your local meets, or sauga meets and ask if anyones willing to help you install the igntion parts in exhange of pizza and beer ;-) there are some good guys who know what they are doing and pretty much everyone is pretty helpful..
