Alarm

Does anyone else's alarm go off when opening the trunk with the keyhole in the rear light? Prev. owner installed custom rear clusters which might be the cause. Just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

That is not the OEM alarm.... Likely there has been a trunk closure sensor wired into the aftermarket alarm. The key is obviously not shutting the aftermarket alarm off. Does it go off like that if you use the key to open the door without disarming the alarm first?

No, it open the doors just fine without the alarm going off. It only does it when you leave the car locked for a few minutes before opening it with the key. If I press the trunk release button on my key-fob it doesn't go off either. It only does this with the trunk key hole. Had no idea it wasn't the OEM alarm though. Thanks for the info

You will have to look at the wiring diagram and instructions for the alarm and see if you can rewire it so that it shuts off the alarm. It's likely just easier to shut off the alarm with the remote before you open the trunk with the key ;-)

Yeah, not looking to fix it. I was just wondering if it happened for anyone else.

Hopefully you are the only one with that system wired that way
