2010 r3

Hey Guys,

Picked up a 2010 R3 two weeks ago. My time started with her at 4800 KM. Not a typo, 4-8-0-0 (3000 miles).

Always loved the 8s. Was finally able to pick one up.

Quick question, when I release the clutch really quick, it feels like it is metered out. So to speak it doesnt slam back, the force is absorbed. It works fine, just wondering if its normal. Used to have a civic and it would clam back and hit the rubber stopper.

Im going to keep reading around the forums. Lot of information.

Not to much I want to do with the car.

List of mods done :

Royal Purple 15w40 Engine Oil
Royal Purple 75w90 Diff Oil
Motor Craft Syn. Tran. Oil

Future Mods :

20 mm Spacers
MazdaTrix Brake Lines
MazdaTrix Clucth Line
ATE Racing Blue Fluid
Magnecor Leads
New Plugs
and new Pads

Let me know what you guys think

Should have kept reading, those are some poor oil choices.

Also good luck finding ATE blue anymore.

There are so many opinions on this website.

Some people love RP some people hate it. Some people have problems with the diff and tranny with RP fluid. Some not.

So far I havnt had any problems. Runs like a champ.

If youre going to say that something is bad, can you link to why it is, so then I can make my own opinion on said problem.

Any ideas on the clutch pedal reaction? Is this normal?

Releasing the clutch pedal quickly enough for it to slam against the stop is not something people usually do, so it's not likely you'll get too many opinions on whether what you're seeing is normal.

On RP - there have been a lot of posts in the past by people using various brands of synthetic oil in their transmissions. RP tended to not perform well, and those discussions usually ended with RP users switching to something else. I don't have any specific threads to point to, but you should be able to find them by searching. I don't recall reading specific issues about RP in the rear end or engine. Other than how a particular oil affects shifting, though, you won't really notice anything in the short run.

The clutch action that Im describing is not something that I do in normal operating time. It was just something I noticed that even sitting still. I suppose its nothing to be concerned about.

I have read the ones where they had trouble with their transmissions. Thats why I put the Ford Motorcraft stuff in.

The car is only going to be driven until late september. Going to change to a lighter oil once the temps drop a bit.
