04 Rx8 engine help

Just bought a 04 rx8 with the motor pulled. turns out that one rotor and housing are junk, assuming it blew a apex seal. i have all the components of the motor but the one rotor and housing. I've looked up buying a used engine or a rebuilt engine. and would like to know anyones input on weather or not which decision would be better for me. Im extremely new to rotary engines and know just the basics. so i was thinking that it would be better for me to buy a used one that is completely together so i can just put it in and be ready to drive. Ive read a few things on people going to a Mazda dealer and getting engines and was curious as to what thats about. any information is appreciated thanks

I think your talking about the 8year 100k mile warranty of wich your more than likely not covered. As for rebuilding your best bet it to get one from Pettit or rotary redirection or some other pro shop that specializes in rx8 13b builds. There is a lot that can go wrong if you've never do it and even the smallest mistake can cost you big on top of what you spent already. Mazda dose make reman engines but I've looked at failur rate of the reman and it is higher than id risk. Hope this helps some.

Yeah. I would say your best bet is to get one from Pettit or Rotary Resurrection. Or have them rebuild yours.
