MA: Caged RX8 Shell
5 Attachment(s)
My brother and I are selling a really nice RX8 shell that we planned on building. The cage builder copied the Speedsource team design from when they were running a Mazda chassis (they now run a tube frame) and did a very nice job on it. The chassis has also been seam welded and repainted OEM silver on the interior and cage. Rare non-sunroof chassis. OEM seat mounts were cut out and plates welded in. Included is the entire rear subframe, differential and rear suspension less shocks and springs. Also installed is the full chassis wiring harness, one tail light, dash with gauge cluster, steering column with stalks, gas tank with Speedsource baffle and pump, pedals, brake lines/master/booster/ABS pump, clutch master and lines, wiper motor and linkage with cowl cover. We also have a custom dolly for moving the car around on that will be included in the sale. It should be cheap enough to put together considering the low cost of complete running RX8's. No hood, front bumper, headlights or front suspension/subframe. One dent on the bottom of the drivers door and another on top of the drivers front fender. What you see is what you get.
Asking $3000 as it sits. Email is the best point of contact. pete.mcparland at gmail.com Attachment 238433 Attachment 238434 Attachment 238435 Attachment 238436 Attachment 238437 |
Any interest in selling the passenger side fender?
|
Sure, I'll sell the fender. I'm not going to be a smart ass or be completely unreasonable and say $3000 and you can have the rest of the car as well. So for $600 its all yours.

Little out of my range for a single fender..

Bump for what looks like a cool partsgroup.com car! (Not sure if it really is or not)
What class were you planning on running in? Curious as I would love to do some stuff other than SCCA with my car :) I built one of these for SCCA. I can send anyone the cost breakdown to build it into an ITR car if you would like. Sadly this is not eligable because it was seam welded but it will give you an idea of the costs involved to get on track with a similar build to this. (PS: I purchased a similar car in similar shape for 4K) Stephen |
Yes, same car. It has sat untouched since we purchased it in Sept. '09. We've been slowly coming to the realization that we won't be building the car any time soon. We built an S2000 in the winter of '08-'09 and wanted to build another car that would be similar in prep. We found this chassis and thought it would be a great opportunity. Unfortunately the logistics and cost of running two cars is too much at this point and the RX8 has to go. If we don't sell it, then we'll get around to finishing it sooner or later.
We were unsure of what class we'd run it in. We do a lot of time trials and instructing with COMSCC. We'd build it for either SPC (4 cylinder or 2 rotor non-turbo street class), or PA an unlimited V8/turbo 6cyl/turbo rotary class. So for road racing it would be STU or ITE with SCCA or PT* or ST1 with NASA. |
Figure i would take another shot at that fender if the price has come down any.
