Winter Tires?

hey guys i just bought an rx8 in the bergen new jersey area
do u think winter tires are necessary or are all seasons good enough?

I would say All Seasons are plenty good enough for Jersey. However they are a performance compromise vs. Summer tires, so you may still want to consider dedicated rims/snows for Winter. 17" steels to save cost and provide for taller sidewalls/slimmer tires typical.

btw: although unusual, the Ft Monmouth area got zero accumulated snowfall last season.

Smallest size wheel you would want is 17", of which steelies are hard to come by. You're better off getting a used set of nice wheels.

where in bergen?.....there is a local weekly meet on tuesday nights at the starbucks on 17N by lowes.....just to let you know....as for winters its a better idea than all seasons.....trust me on this...there is also a big meet tomorrow at bear mtn that you might want to attend....

in the near future though :]
it would be awesome to meet up with some fellow rx8-ers
so snows it is i guess

also i live near old tappan area
if anyone lives around here thatll be awesome

I live in Hillsdale, right by old tappan.

Where exactly are you?

O and I will be getting blizzaks for the winter. I had problems going anywhere in my all seasons (toyo proxes 4). I suggest you do the same if you plan on driving places during the winter.

after my first day of driving the 8
i realized how bad the rx8 eats my gas hahaa
