Holy shizzle,

whats going on Logan? Hows your build?

Is the forum this slow were debating the best way to read coolant temps? lol

I would still prefer the method i chose However, if their is a way to make it more useful by all means blurt out the info so it's here somewhere.

And no comments on the smoked meat pre-dehydrator..tisk tisk.
Man cards where are they, give em up.

It could be done adequately with a cobb. And just tweaking the response of the temp sensor. A just set it so when it walks over 210 the car thinks its dramatically overheated and your needle redlines.

But then it won't be able to use the temp as an accurate reference for the things that the ecu uses the coolant temp for (I forgot what they are).

I considered just replacing the dial with a little screen, but I've been busy with other things.

Yup. :)

Do you really care about those little changes to the tune when your engine is overheating. Id rather know i just need to shutdown asap.

If anything it should detune the engine due to extra heat so it would potentially reduce the risk of damage.

Travis, whats up man? The build sucks right now. Im having issues with a hose that is leaking at the turbo and it takes me about 5 hours to pull then attempt to fix and find out if it worked.

I have an aftermarket temp and one taped i to the stock one for comparison, but its a nice idea to make my temp gauge peg when it gets to that edge.

Williard 04-04-2015 08:57 PM

What kinda leak is it?

What are you waiting for? It's only wrench time :)

I'll stick with my digital and leave the stock alone lol.

I guess. The tables that are effected by the ect are warm up fueling, and fans, so yeah they're not that important. Linearizing the sensor voltage v temp table should actually give a linear reading in the gauge.

Moving on... Where are the pictures of this phantom car? I only see pictures of some guy's meat!

logalinipoo 04-04-2015 11:34 PM

There might be additional tables affected by ECT, but When you are in a state of overheating it should not be a huge concern.

I'm not saying to make it linear so the gauge moves slowley. Just decide what the max temp you consider acceptable. Then anything above that temp will peg your gauge. That way you aren't making a judgement call from the position. and you are not effecting the everyday tune.

My leak is the 5/8" hose for coolant from the turbo to the return. I can not find a decent clamp in the correct size. I tried some T bolt clamps but they were too large so I wrapped the hose in high temp self vulcanizing rubber tape, but that did not work. And the standard Worm gear clamps I'm finding are just crap.

Gauges as i said are in. At least those 3... 2 more

Williard 04-05-2015 12:04 AM

Hmm

Worm clamps can be a bitch if you end up with cheapies..

Napa usually has some quality clamps, I don't know if you have one local. Autozone and all those are cheap clamps

A little late but Happy Easter everyone.

Happy Easter Travis! What battery box is that? I've been looking at the ~20-$30 ones from amazon, but I need to check the size of my new battery.

Williard 04-05-2015 11:51 PM

Hello again. All this arrived today... yea I can't really contain myself at the moment.

CALM DOWN!!

I'm organizing it now.
Travis

Legot 04-11-2015 03:13 PM

Nice, but you seem to have forgotten one crucial detail!

AN fittings are terrible at everything!

Williard 04-11-2015 04:20 PM

I disagree sir.

Better options? Maybe... sexier nope..
Lol

Travis

ShellDude 04-11-2015 06:58 PM

I had a helluva time with the AN fittings on my relocation kit. It took no fewer than eight tries to get everything to seal nicely.... I gave up after the 6th and then watched my local shop dick around with it.... which was rewarding until I had to pay the bill.

Williard 04-11-2015 07:38 PM

Lol

Guys I used these type of fittings daily as an Apache Crew Chief... I guess maybe you just need....The Gift. DUN DUN DUNNNN

Seriously though I've never really had any issues.

Hopefully my luck will continue.

Travis
