Who do YOU trust, locally?
 

Who do you trust for stock maintenance,? What about aftermarket installs? So you do it yourself? Do you trust a local shop, if so, where? And who would you buy parts from, local or online only?


Bonus points for local shops in MD or NOVA I can go to, but I'm curious overall from everyone

I try to do things myself to save money. If I dont know how exactly to do something Ill get help from a friend

All my service stuff is done here. I've recommended a few members and they've been happy with DJ as well. One was a WB owner who brought in his exhaust for install. The other was routine stuff.

I have my tires shipped to him directly, rims, etc. I buy the parts I want and he does all the installs. Oil changes, my 30k & 60k service, brakes . . . hell, he even let me leave the 8 on the rack from end of day Friday through to Monday morning after he pulled the calipers, rotors & shields off for me to take home and paint.

Even when I had my Ranger he took great care of it. Never tries to BS, will always tell you what should be fixed, what can wait and anything in between.

I had a friend who work or maybe still works for Summit. Little known fact (at the time) was that Summit can or could price match. So you can get solid prices from a good company. I generally buy all my standard components from them. Ordered a Walbro and spark plugs Monday night, shipped Tuesday morning. I would consider them a little limited as far as aftermarket/import goes.

Only if something is needed to be fixed under warranty do I take it to a dealer. Other than that, I trust no one and do it myself.

I buy it from respectable places online people here have had good luck with for the most part if strictly 8-related but for accessories and stuff in general, whatever store carries the part for the lowest cost.

MazdaTrix has been great for me. Prices are always on par with or better than the cheapest and they've always been straight about availability. If they don't have it in stock they say so and tell you how long it will take. And that is how long it takes, no BS. http://mazdatrix.com/

He's always on top of orders and provides great customer service. http://finishlineperformance.com/store/home.php It's a Mazda dealership so the prices on some items can be beat elsewhere but he's always been great so if the price difference isn't crazy I have always been willing to pay a couple dollars more for the security a good store provides.


Sadly, that seems to be more and more rare in the current marketplace. Companies seem far too willing to take your order knowing full well they can't fill if for weeks but never bother to inform you of that little tidbit.

so far it's been Browns Chantilly Mazda for maintenance and what not. They have been superb to me since I got the car and I've brought it to them at least 3 times now. Always friendly, quick and willing to talk to you about anything so far. They have a nice little PS2 setup with some racing game and steering wheels you can play on, free coffee from those one time use k-cup things also. I think they even have free wi-fi.

So far i've done all after market work myself.
