White Engine Smoke

So, I took my RX8 to the mechanic to have him clean the SSV (Secondary Shutter Valve) as it has been having a misfire. The SSV Was FILLED with Carbon and looked completely black until it was clean. In the process of tearing it down to get to the SSV, he disconnected the Coolant tank from the Radiator but as he did so, part of the Radiator was left inside the PVC that connects to the Coolant. Well since the Radiator was rusted and the connector part snapped off, he tried to rig the PVC and put something in it so it would still stay connected temporary. Well I drove it home but after, I went out and it started smoking out the hood with white smoke (No smoke has been noticed (black, white, or gray) coming out of the exhaust pipes). I called up another mechanic and had him look at it because when I would go to put coolant in, it would just drain out the other side. He found that the PVC was loose and put a clamp on it which did stop it from draining out completely, but now it still seems to smoke. I am being told it sounds as if the coolant is still leaking somewhere.

I am really not trying to take it to Mazda as they overcharge 150% more than it would cost to do it myself or have another mechanic work on it, but if there are any Mechanics in (or near) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, please let me know as I am running out of options. P.S. I had the Radiator replaced as that part snapped off. Also, I can't imagine it being the seals as this issue did not occur until after I took it to my mechanic and he had broke the radiator and attempted to fix it using cheap ghetto repairs.

So, what you're saying that your original mechanic broke your car and put a non-fix in place to get you out the door and that non-fix didn't work.

Sounds to me like you need to talk to the original mechanic.

What you're describing as smoke is probably steam as coolant is boiling off and/or leaking onto some hot part of the engine.
Without photos, it may be difficult to understand what you're describing because "PVC" doesn't make any sense (to me at least). PVC stands for "polyvinyl chloride" (which is one of many, MANY types of plastic) and I don't think it's a very popular plastic under the hood of a car.

Yes and don't drive your car anymore, have him tow it to his shop, sounds like it may have over heated now through what ever ghetto fix he made and it's a bit hard to actually tell what you're saying happened? These engines are very intolerant of over heating so...........................
