Guys,
Have any of you got new wheels for your 8? I'm looking for 19s and want to know if there are any good dealers in are area that anyone has found w/cheap packages.. i'm asking for the world..

If you go to tire.com, you can use the dealer search function to locate participating dealers in your area that carry several models of wheels and tires.

I live here in Baltimore, and, sad to say, most of the wheel dealers here cater to a more "style-before-performance" kind of crowd. Not that there's nothing wrong with that...however 20" spinners on an RX-8 is grounds for a sever flogging IMO. Of course, you can always go with Mazdaspeed wheels (Oh, so very nice!) in which case you just need to visit your local Mazda dealerships.

I think that if your looking for true-performance wheels, i.e. Volk, 5-Ziggen, BBS, etc. you'll need to go through the web first. But, if you can find a dealer that can order what your looking for, and price-match, they'll usually mount, set-up and install the new package for free. For me, this is worth the little extra than having me do it all by myself.

Echo Arvin's post, I searched high and low for a custom shop that; A) seemed interested in doing any business other than SUV spinners, and B) was within 200 miles of Baltimore. The web is the best bet, then pick a shop or your mazda dealer to mount/balance and install those oh-so-important TPMS and ship all the parts directly to them. This route will get you the best bang/buck ratio.

I absolutely LOVE the pilot sport ps2s that I added just in time for VIR last weekend. They performed (and continue to) incredibly well and I know gave me a significant edge over another RX8 on stock tires turning into the corners. They wear pretty well, too, and are currently handling the wet/oily pavement MUCH better than the potenzas. I feel a lot more secure.
I haven't tried yet, but the PS2s supposedly work superbly for auto-x, too!

Check out Radial Tire. Many of the WDCR autocross guys go there for wheels & tires. Tell them what you want, and they'll hook you up. They regularly beat tirerack's price.
