Western NY area meet possibly
 

Id love to have a meet in western ny around the buffalo rochester area if there is enough interest and we can figure out a area to meet. so if your interested post with ideas on where to meet and when

i feel so alone no rx8 clubbers in western ny

thatss about as west as it gets lol in the east..

Letchworth Park
 

We live in Kansas, but were Buffalo born and bred - if you ever get any responses from WNY, try Letchworth State Park for the road portion of the meet.:)

I am originally from Rochester, NY actually will be up there with my car at the end of August if you can get anything going i would def try to make it out!

the oatka trail is a nice twisty road to drive too though not super long

I'd be down for Letchworth State Park or anything really. I don't know where there are many good driving roads.

Does anyone know what happened to the RocRotary club? I know they used to do meets at Seneca Park Zoo in the past but I can't seem to find their website or anything about them anymore.

letchworth would work if we can get like around 10 people could be fun to do like a barbecue then go for a drive in letchworth some time around the end of august if we get enough people interested i could set something up

I just picked up my first RX-8 a week ago. I love it and am interested in meets.

I too just purchased an RX8 and i would like to go to a meet. I am completely new to the vehicle yet i love it

its gonna have to wait until May for me. I just put mine away for the winter yesterday.

Same for me today, hit it right at 29K miles even :)

off hopkins you say, i lived off hopkins(near north high) my whole life just moved out of my parents literally one week ago today to tonawanda, i had a silver one a few years ago and just got another black 8 that will be coming out in 2 weeks

Hey I live in Angola about 10-20 mins outside of buffalo i picked up a red 8 with the blk n red interior I'd love to have a cruise and meet I have so many questions about modding

hey carbon maybe you can lend me a hand, I've been misfiring at redline in 3rd gear and up, from what I've gathered its gonna be either my coils, MAF sensor or bad compression i have an 06 with 31k miles on it. i just can't figure out why its only at redline in 3rd and up 1st and 2nd i have no issues at all

Misfires are always more common in high rpm/ high load. I'd suggest start with the easy stuff first. Plugs, coils, clean Maf, check compression. I'll be back home in the middle of June if you need a hand. Depends on how much of a priority it is for you. Start with the small stuff first.

gotcha thanks, and its not super high on my list obv i want to get it done before serious harm, but i still have a warranty left on the engine need to take care of some other bills and such first thanks for the help.

Is the CEL light flashing. If its under warranty take it to south town Mazda. The service writer there is an idiot but ask for Dawn, she's the manager or Bill (there's two you want the older on) he's there rx8 specialist and is the only one I ever let touch any of my cars. Tell them Ryan Power refered you, and you should be good to go my friend.

nice, and ill set something up soon there then, i used to take my old rx8 to northtown but i cant stand the people there so id much rather go out of my way to people that are actually competent, and yea it is flashing, thats how i instantly knew i was a misfire.

Ya I have a problem with my power steering and I went to the counter and the guy was like I can give you a pump??? I was like uhhh it's electrical dude... They're not the brightest up there

I know, I learned south town was the only place to go back when I had my speed 6 some 5 years ago lol. By now they know me and never question my diagnosis, the parts guy has also become dependent on me providing him with the correct Mazda p/n after he charged me an extra grand for the wrong transmission after I told him which one to order :lol:

Wish I was going, judges at that show for the tuner category love 8's they pick one to win almost every year. Last year a basically stock GT took 2nd place

i actaully have a group of friends going, I on the other hand am not, the life of trashing hotels and slips in slides in hall ways is behind me now haha

I always say next year, then I get tied up in a project and never finish in time. Shows are taking a back seat this year, I'm planning a lot of seat time on various tracks in the area instead.

Thats not to far, I live in Canandaigua during the summer, takes about an hour to drive (back roads and an open throttle) one of my favorite drives to take.
