It's not even worth going through insurance. Wish me luck.

If you go through your insurance in the Richmond area your looking at $400 - $500 ($500 being on the high side) at a body shop provided the stay within the fender. It does not appear they would need to blend into the hood or front door to achieve a good color match. 4 - 5 hours (total) to repair the dents/deep scratch and 2.8 to paint/clear coat. Also the addtional time to remove the fender vent, remove the splash guard and set back the fender liner.

I deal with this stuff everyday.

Automatic tranny, not really by my choice, but easier for the wife to drive. She drives it 90% of the time anyhow.

Gratz! I'm the same way- it's our family car of choice now. I did have to block the front seat back with a large road atlas so my 20 month old wouldn't keep kicking it, but she loves it because her car seat puts her in the perfect spot to look out the side window, front, and moonroof.

I'm in Chesterfield, at Genito and Hull, so if you see a pollen-covered green 8 with an RX-8Club.com sticker up that way(and a slightly abused back passenger-side fender, which needs to be fixed due to my stupidity) wave!

he doesn't want another customer, does he? I had an 'accident' last week (due to my own stupidity) and I'm pretty sure I've got to replace my entire back right fender now.

1stgen, you in Charlottesville today? I'm headed up to the store for a visit. I'd like to see the mods on your car one day. But then again, you don't drive it to work do you?

I could ask him about it. It's kind of hard to get in touch with him since he is in Maryland without a cell phone. I talk to him through MySpace. Do you have a picture of the damage. I am sure he is willing to install a fender for you, but we haven't have luck lately trying to find a fender for myself. So I believe were going to just pull the dents and call it a day.
