VA Vehicle regs
I was impressed with how quickly NiGhtRx8er's "lowered ride" thread was closed. Didn't even notice the lock until after I got curious and had google find the following link, which is more complete and to the point:
http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Safety.shtm As long as I found it, it seems worth putting up. FWIW, I visited that site (or maybe DMV's equivalent) some time ago when a friend in the auto business told me that my LightInSight was not legal. Turned out it is. Always best to find the actual reg. And yeah, I'd expect someone with an improper ride height to get pounced on by Fairfax County police. Ken |
although the height of the actual bumper reinforcement is hard to measure on the side of the road. lol.

I haven't a clue how to measure that even sitting comfortably in my garage, without dismantling things. Unless I measured from a frame rail...although I haven't seen a frame rail on a car for several decades.
Looks like the answer to N's original question is answered by the "don't scrape the ground" part. The rules seem to be aimed more at jacked up trucks than low riders. Ken |
