Northeast Exotic Car Show 2005 / RX 8 Invitation 6/25/05
Hey Guys- The second annual Northeast Exotic Car Show is on Saturday JUne 25th / rain date is Sunday June 26th.
To be held at the Anheuser-BUsch Brewery in Merrimack, NH. All proceeds to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.
Your Invited. Last year we had 2 RX-8's at the show, this year I'm shooting for 10.
Last year we had 140 cars at the show, I am expecting 200 this time. This years event is open to: Dodge Viper, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Acura NSX, Mazda RX-7/ RX-8, Nissan ZX, Celica Supra, Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Cobra, Mini-Cooper, Ford GT and Pantera.
There will be plenty to do during the show too. With tours through the Brewery and the Stables. We will have live bands playing... plenty of great cars and car enthusiasts.
If you have any questions about the event reply to this thread or e-mail me jeff@neviperclub.org
Come on out, spend a day in the country...make a difference in the life of a child. Hang out with us, I promise to make you'll feel right at home.
Regards,-Jeff Torrey Director/Northeast Exotic Car Show

Jeff:
Does this date coinside with the Elm St. Car Show? I wanted to go to this show last year but I think the Crusin' Elm St. one was on the same date. I will check and see if this show falls on the same date. I'm the President of the local Miata Club, the M'sters Miata Club, and could get a bunch of us to attend. Is this open to Miata's too?
Please let me know and I will check the dates of the Elm St. Car Show.

Kevin- Yes the Miata Club is welcome. I posted yesterday to the NH SCCA group and let them know about the show. Many of them track Miata's.
If you have a Track Car you can trailer the cars to the show. Please come early before the parking lots fill up. It will make unloading much easier.
I don't know what the date is for Elm St.
KTH- I can't move the date, but good luck @ ProSolo

Spin9k and I went to the show last year and I have to say that there were some pretty incredible cars on display. They covered the gamut from Vipers to NSXs to Ferraris to BMWs to Porsches... After hearing the list of cars we were a little hesitant about showing off our RX-8s but everybody made us feel right at home and we had a great time.
Speaking of Vipers I don't think that I have ever seen that many in one place. If I remember right, there was a supercharged Viper which had a dyno sheet in the window proudly proclaiming 800 WHP!!! Jeff, wasn't that your car?

Captain- No that car belongs to Jerry Colpitts. He does the fundraising for the show. My car was the 1992 Car. I parked it out on the lawn by the stables...1992 was the first year Dodge built the Viper, 285 cars were made. I own #192...I could never supercharge that car.

Yes we did have a great time last year. All the cars there were something special. Here is the thread about it, and pictures of Speed Racer's and my cars... sitting there and looking ever so exotic, yes we fit right in and got our share of admiring attention.
I hope this year we have more 8s ... it was well worth it... a very enjoyable show

"bump" This is getting close, can we please get a sticky on this - thanks !
Hey guys, Jeff posted this just a bit early in the season, but the event is quickly here. It would be great to have a big RX-8 group there - all you need do is show up!! Jeff is a big fan of our cars, so don't be shy and think you don't belong....our 8's are exotic and it is a great time, the only prep is a good detailing of your car... and the crowd really appreciated our cars last year... we got people standing around and oooing and asking all kinds of questions
For those who have never attended, each car gets a number upon arrival. After all the cars are registered and in place (last year 140 spectacular cars showed - likely 200 this time around!) in their respective separated out class area, the entire place is then open to the public. Each person entering gets a ballot, a pencil, and they start going through the cars. the cars in each class get ranked by the public.
BTW This wasn't a day in a hot parking lot either, the Bud brewery is set in a peacefull green rural area of NH. The cars park on a beautiful grassy area, lots of trees, so shady spots are available. There are paved walk/driveways around, a huge Clidesdale Barn nearby you (and the kids/significant other if you bring them) can go in and see the horses (they are massive animals).
You meanwhile, would have brought a comfy chair, some food and drink, and are sitting nearby your car to answer questions and show off your detailed beauty, hood, doors open if you wish, or not...you can have a sign like at tech day explaining your car, etc.
Off and on, you can wander through all the cars yourself, fill out your ballot, talk to people with cars like you dream and read about in the mags. Last year people came from New York, New Jersy, Conn, RI, Main, Mass, and further with just amazing machinery.
I took a ton of pics (also see Jeff's picture file in an earlier post above) [here are some of them http://www.spin9k.com/html/exotic_car_show.html], this year I'm taking video to get ALL the detail of the amazing exotic/historic vehicles on display up close. You've never seen the likes of the cars you'll see here, that's a guarantee!!
BTW, I swept First Place in our class, Speed Racer swooped in and grabbed Runner Up! And check out the cool 2 ft tall trophy I can show off with my RX-8 when I need some bragging rights! It could be yours this year. :D

What Spin said. The only thing I would add is... we are raising money for Make-a-Wish.
Registration is $10.00... that covers your donation and helps pay for the awards, mailings, etc.
I hope to see you there.

I'd be very interested in this, but have never done one of these before. The eight is a beautiful car, but I use mine as a daily driver and it's definitely not a show car.
What do I have to do to sign up?

Aside from showing up, donating $10 to Make-a-Wish, you should clean your car as best as you want. Mods are great, but a clean car is enough. It's a casual show and shine event, where people certainly are proud of the vehicles, and it shows. The interested public and others there are the 'judges', but it's just for fun.
I think of the my RX-8 as an affordable exotic, a fun car to own and drive, but totally unique in the world. That's no small feat! It's great to meet others who feel the same about whatever special they drive in a non-competitive atmosphere. By that I mean with classes, you're not competing directly with Ferraris, for example, but there they are right next door! It's a blast.
