need someone to help me install springs

hey i need someone to help me install my racing beat springs!
i live in melville longisland ny
Or does anyone know of a place nearby that would do it for cheap ie:friends shops, shops where u are cool with the owner and i can use ur name lol

nycgps 01-12-2011 10:34 PM

it will cost at LEAST 250-350 bux at shop + they might fuck it up.

cuz u have to remove all 4 corners, front 2 is easy, but the rear is a pain.

u can leave me ur car a day, I will just drive it home and do it. I have all tools at home.

not now tho. lol too cold.

I won't steal ur car. everybody knows me here :)

damn 350 is a lot if i got the springs for less than half of that haha, im only 18 cant really throw money away like that.
i was hoping i could do the install with someone instead of leaving my car with them
I wanna learn a few things so i can do it myself in the future
And ur right, it is WAY to damn cold to do it now haha

I borrowed a spring compressor, and read all the DIY stuff here. Just took time. Biggest problem was the adjustment cables for the rear shocks. But I love being able to adjust them on the car.

Change em out yourself. Honestly it sounds and looks a lot harder than it really is. You will spend most of your time taking bolts off only because they are torqued down. First time I took the suspension off my car was scary because I didn't exactly have the experience, but I am glad I did it. Just have a torque wrench and a spring compressor and a set of allan keys and you are honestly all set and ready. Dedicate a whole day (should take a few hours but have a whole day as insurance).

Like NYCGPS said, the rear is a pain only because you need to take off the LCA and much with the camber adjustment plate (since your ride height will change). The fronts are an easy swap. Follow this guide, it was REALLY helpful for me:

Front:

Rear:

You will save a ton of money and really learn a lot about how the car's suspension system is set up.
