NE Enthusiasts pls HELP! NH's Club Motorsports needs YOUR Support!

Unreasonable people opposed to auto enthusiasts enjoying their cars on a private track on private land are trying to block the building of Club Motorsoports (and any other tracks of this type) through the repeal of an existing NH law.

Please read the following letter, the attachments <At the VERY BOTTOM> that explain the problem these individuals are causing by attempting to overturn this existing law and visit the club's web site for details of the intended project www.clubmotorsports.com, and come to one or both of the Public Meetings scheduled to voice your opinion, and/or call/email/come and sign the petition before 2/21.

Thanks for any help you can offer! This is politics that effects YOU - the auto enthusiast in New England

MODS - Possible to sticky this until the 22nd? - thanks

Here is the email I received:

Subject: Club Motorsports New Hampshire Members

Dear
New Hampshire Members and Friends:

We thank you for your continued support of ValleyMotorsportsPark. More than ever, Club Motorsports needs your help.

While we work through the permit process (we have our two state permits and continue to work with the Army Corps on the federal permit) the opposition is attempting another roadblock. Last year, we were successful in differentiating ourselves from a pure spectator oval track like NHIS by passing SB 458 now called RSA 287-G. This law provides Club Motorsports some protection against those who totally oppose our project. The opposition is attempting to over-turn our law with their bill called HB-90. Please find the attached talking points concerning our law verses the opponent’s bill.

We invite all members and friends of Club Motorsports to attending either one of the public hearings; the dates, times and locations are listed below. We encourage you to write a letter to your local representatives and the other state representative on this committee in opposition of HB-90. Please find a great informational letter that a fellow member, Dave Patten has posted on many of the club related sites – thanks Dave.

If you can attend one of the meetings, please contact me and we can discuss additional details and some brief talking points for your testimony.

If you can’t attend the hearing, we need your signature on the official “blue sheet” in opposition of HB-90. Please either call or email me and I will come to you and secure your signature along with any of your family, friends, or neighbors who also support the project. All signatures must be collected by February 21.

Please forward this email to any additional supporters; we need all the help possible to defeat HB-90.

Thanks,

Jim

The road course that they are building looks like it would be the best in the Northeast and it would be a shame if the project gets held up again. So I plan on showing up for the hearing in Concord on the 22nd.

Public Hearing: Concord
Date: February 22, 2004
Time: 10:00 AM to Noon
Location: Legislative Office Building (rooms 301 to 303)
33 N State St Concord, NH 03301 - directly behind the State House.
