I know there is a local club that meets in Tysons, anyone here attend? Looking for a good shop for some mods and would like some recommendations.

What kind of mods you looking for? Do you want show or go?

I am not sure how far I can push it with my wife yet. So far she has been quite tolerant of my return to the sports car world. Before we met I had a GT mustang and an N/A RX7, a Fiat Spider that I practically built and an Opel GT that I worked on a lot. She wants a new kitchen, I am thinking I may be able to justify a couple of thousand a year on the car. So, I am thinking of building up slowly. I'd like to add F/I at some point, but I have not seen the product that really makes me say "Wow" yet. I am hoping that Mazda will come out with something that will let me keep my Warranty and get a little extra zoom.

^HIYA, i am in the land of NOVA as well....springfield to be exact..the meets in tyson are with MSCW (Mazda Sportcar Club of Washington)...every 1st weansday of teh month. nice group of people.

i do all my own work on my car...did one thing that wasn't and it all went to hell. (long story)

a few people have had suspension mods..and FI added down at RP performance in Manassas. had my flywheel, clutch and pressure plate put on there...but had some seriouse issues with it...not sur eif it's parts or installer error...(doubt it's the latter)...so who knows...no one else besides me and cas2themoe have had clutch issues (i think)....eh is in maryland by the way. they've done one other clutch assembly that i know of and it is working fine (it was an act unit)

okay well i've babbled enough...welcome to teh club i'll most likly see you around :D:D:D

Worth the cash?

I just read your thread about your fly wheel/clutch drama and it is not an encouraging exmple of the benefits of adding mods. I truly love my car and I really do not want to F it up. I like the idea of adding zoom, but I don't want to spend my life at the shop with my wallet open because something went wrong. I noticed that you had/have the MS flywheel. What was the benefit of choosing MS over some of the other "lighter" set ups. Was warranty an issue for you?
I see a lot of people spending a lot of money and time to squeeze every ounce of performance from the car. Do you think you get your moneys worth?

A live in northern VA. Titanium 8. RP performance seems to be a very good shop. I have had no problems with them.

MSCW has a car show/tech session/picnic tomorrow at Congressional Mazda in Rockville, should be a great turnout, come check it out if you are interested

i will be upgrading my brake fluid at the event tomorrow :D

griffj10 i have gotten my money's worth out of the mods i've done..bc/ i knew exactly what they would'would not do...adn got them for what i wanted.

i went with mazdaspeed b/c i got a good price on it and then i won't have to hear teh dealership b!t%h and moan about an aftermarket flywheel.

as for f'ing up teh car....teh car is fine just the clutch assembly and flywheel got some damage (not super major)....RB will get to the bottom of it then they'll help out their customers....as did RP and they will continue to do so. great bunch of guys from both companies........if you are worried about messing up your car....just sit on teh fence and se which way teh winds blow for different mods/upgrades. As far as i know cas2themoe and I were the first ones to get teh RB clutch/pressure plate. and sometimes it doesn't pay to be the first/ginnie pigs :p

awe well...hehe guess i learned that the hard way.......but my car is okay and everythign is being taken care of....so no worries here...adn no regrets.....yet LOL.

yea i won't be able to go to the tech session for MSCW...i have to work then go to my gf's freidns b-day party....hehe so sorry guys/girls i'll be having more fun than you...well at least for the second part of the day :)
