First and foremost, I want to say hi to everyone on the boards. I'm brand new here and excited as hell. I bought a brand new white RX-8 on Friday. I upgraded from a Mazdaspeed Protege and I think it was one hell of an upgrade. Super sexxxy car in every way imaginable, and a pleasure to drive. I live in Jersey so if there are any local meets coming up I should know about, i'd love to swing by and get to know some of you. I look foward to learning alot from this board. :D

P.S. I'd post pics but I dont have a digi cam. My friend is suppossed to swing by this week and take some for me. I'll post em as soon as he does.

Kel, to answer your questions, I bought it at Maxon on Rt.22 in Union. Also I live in Union. Are you also from Jersey? The RX8 in your sig is sick by the way. I assume its yours. This is my first rotary car. Is there anything special I should do for break in that isnt mentioned in the manual. It said no break in neccesary, but it also said take it easy for the first 600 miles or so. I havent revved above 4000 rpm yet.

 

I kept it under 4k for the first 1000 miles, and I don't drive it everyday so that took a LOOOONG time. Congrats on the purchase, I love white. Check out www.rx8tristateclub.com for a club around here.

 

Well.. do what they say about the 1K mile thing.. after that.. uh.. rev freely.. :-D.. i redline mine once a day in 2nd or 3rd gear.. sometimes 4th if i got the room.. But uh... take some exits with out the brakes if you can.. get use to the suspension.. i'm up to 60mph going off a ramp that says 25mph.. i'm pushing 70.. then i'll stop.. I have a 7.. and it handles great with no mod suspension.. so i think ya 8 can handle it.. start off slow like 40mph.. then move up.. :-D

And thanks for all of the input guys. Im trying really hard for this break in thing. My curiosity is starting to get the best of me though. The messed up part is ive only put 150 miles on her so far. I still have such a long way to go until the tension is over!

 

drive her up friday to paramus and i can guarantee you will be at least 100 closer with the round trip
