It's Friggin' Cold!!!

Yup, yours truly has invaded the NE since I'm spending Turkey Day in Wiscasset, Maine.

Snowed the whole way in from Portland and I even managed to get my Chrysler 200 rental car stuck in the driveway thanks to all the snow that's come down.
Not sure how you guys drive your 8's in this weather.
I bet my GF $20 that I wouldn't see a single 8 the entire time we're here.

kinnda hoping I'm wrong.

anyways, just wanted to say Hi.

Planning on eating lots of turkey, desserts, and of course LOBSTER while I'm here. Probably hitting up a few good eating spots in Portland, Rockland, and anywhere else I can find.

Have fun Jorge. Enjoy the lobster stuffed turkey. :wavey:

What do you mean HOW we drive here in our 8's? Is there any other way?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rotary101 11-23-2011 10:33 PM

Haha, Happy Thanksgiving rob. I just saw a foot of snow and shuddered at the idea of trying to drive my 8 in this. (my front bumper is less then 3 inches off the ground)

It's beautiful weather though, so far I'm enjoying my stay.

Galen Darkmoon 11-24-2011 04:23 PM

Drive the 8 in snow? sand? salt? GAAH

RIWWP 11-24-2011 04:25 PM

There are worse times to visit :)

A moderate low-end torque American RWD with cheap all seasons is a terrible way to deal with the snow. A low low-end torque balanced RWD with quality snow tires does JUUUSSSTTTT fine :icon_tup:

9krpmrx8 11-24-2011 04:43 PM

 I have been wrenching all day it's 70F and beautiful out. Have fun, try that clam chowder man, you will like it!

Exactly, the idea of that is terrifying. Heck, I don't even drive mine in the rain. My RX8 is slightly spoiled.

I'd still rather have my AWD Bimmer ;)

Haha, I wish it was in the 70's. Wrenching on your car on Turkey Day? You're such a Commie, get in the house and enjoy some grub.

I'll try the clam chowder just for you but I'm not gonna like it.

Heading up to Rockland to have some seafood tomorrow and apparently there's some car museum there as well that we're checking out.

I ate too much that is the problem. I just did a few things, finished up in time to watch the Cowboys win again and eat :)

Have a good one!

yeah, I should not have gone back for 3rd on the dessert; I went into sugar rush and then food coma mode.

Cowboys just barely squeaked out a win and the stupid Ravens smashed the Niners O-line and pounded us into submission. :wallbash:

I don't mind it to be honest but mainly because I know I only have to deal with it for a few days.
if I had to live here.... yeah....no way.

usiris208 11-25-2011 07:15 AM

Haha yea weather in NY sucks but down here in Va we don't see snow till late jan-Feb and its not that bad on avg haha.

Jedi54 11-25-2011 05:57 PM

RIWWP 11-25-2011 06:55 PM

Jedi54 11-25-2011 07:55 PM

Hey Jedi! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ravens game. ;) As for driving in the snow... yeah it does suck the couple times a year we get it. Not as frequent down here, but we can can get hit with a good Nor'easter once in a while, and my car sits until there is no snow (and salt) left on the road. Minor inconvenience in comparison to being able to drive it the rest of the time though.

Hope you enjoyed your trip!

scremn8 11-26-2011 02:04 PM

it's a jedi mind trick, he's still here enjoying high 70's weather with clear sky's.:suspect:

stupid ravens. :cussing: ;)
driving in the snow is fun, I just cant imagine doing it in my RX8, I get the feeling I'd get it stuck awfully quick.

So far I'm having a blast out here, weather might creep up into the high 30's or 40's so I think I'll be in shorts tomorrow.

you know you're jealous of that lobster roll I had yesterday.
I drove by one of the sea ports here today, it looks JUST like the one in San Pedro.

alright, it might be a TAD bit smaller...

paporx8 11-27-2011 07:03 AM

Its call " NATURE DRIFTING" here in da NE. Should have seen last winter with snow coming down once a week for 2 months straight. I believe i have a " Masters" degree in drifting. Sux when your 8 is your everyday

RIWWP 11-27-2011 07:16 AM

You are also forgetting the 'NATURE FI' :)

Noticably more power in the winter than in the summer :fruit:

Jedi54 11-29-2011 08:20 AM

Well, it's been at hell of a trip but it's almost time to head back to Cali.
I didn't see any RX-8's while I was here but I figured they're all hibernating for the winter.
