This whole place is a top drawer facility - I understand it was ~$100M invested for the two tracks and they're still putting the finishing touches on a lot of it, like building the gas station ontrack, club houses/condos, race shops and restaurants, etc.

Lightening track was a blast is July at the 3 day I went to, short track (1+ miles) but really fast & surprising challenging. Thunderbolt was just opening then and is longer, more twisties, even more challenging from what I can see on utube and the discussion. I'd say any dust is gone by now, unless someone goes off and brings it on to the track.

This looks like a great time to go, cool and beautiful on a pristine new track. I'm going to try and do if possible... Good find

---sold out !! - I thought it just opened for registration - what's up w/that??

Not really sold out - only some - the Green (novice) and Blue (one up from novice) groups are sold out (you can be wait listed and that usually gets you in I've found - people always drop out for some reason, esp in the lower groups)

White (intermediate) and Black (adv) are open and available for members and non-members alike!

i understand, but i have a group of friends that wanna go as well. the chances that all of us get in is pretty slim. i'm going to keep emailing and get updates to make sure.

green and blue are the only instructed groups. i'd much rather have an instructor with me as this will be my first time on thunderbolt.

I wouldn't let that stop me, all you have to do is ask. They'll accommodate your request I'm sure, after all what is their alternative... you out there killing yourself and them denying you instruction? I don't think so lol.

I'll be in the same boat as you, never been on that track. Just because I may be in white doesn't mean I don't need to learn a new track! I'm definitely going to get an instructor, at least on the beginning day and maybe one session on each of the next. After that it's nice to shed all that extra weight! I'll ask for one during the registration process.
